Har dwar e Installation (continued) 3 3. Locate the PCI slots on your computer’ s main cir cuit boar d. The PCI slots ar e white in color . Remove the metal plate that covers the r ear slot corr esponding to the PCI slot you wish to use. Y ou may need a cross-head/Phillips scr ewdriver to r emove any scr ews.
4. Remove the Fir eWir e car d fr om its pr otective static bag. Handle it by the metal bracket only , and do not touch the gold edge connectors. Insert the car d into the PCI slot, car efully aligning the r ear bracket to the computer case. Make sur e that the car d edges ar e fully inserted into the slot.

(Optional) If you ar e planning to connect multiple bus-power ed Fir eWir e devices to the Belkin IEEE 1394 PCI car d, it may be necessary to draw auxiliary power fr om your computer’ s power supply .

Softwar e Installation 7 Fir eWir e Enabler Installation If you ar e using Mac OS 8.6, you must download the Apple Fir eWir e softwar e fr om the Apple support website. Apple Fir eWir e 2.4 is r ecommended. See instructions below to download and install Apple Fir eWir e softwar e.
Softwar e Installation (continued) 8 3. Select Fir eWir e version 2.4 if you ar e using Mac OS 8.6. Select Fir eWir e version 2.5 if you ar e using Mac OS version 9.
Softwar e Installation (continued) 9 4. Choose to download either the "Mac Binary", or "Binhex" version of the file. If you ar e unsur e about which version to choose, scr oll down to the bottom of the Softwar e Download page and click the link under the Installation Instructions section.
Softwar e Installation (continued) 10 8. Select the “Easy Install” for the installation option and select your startup disk in the “Destination Disk” and click on “Install”. 9. A warning dialogue will come up asking permission to close all other applications.
Softwar e Installation (continued) 11 2. Read the License Agr eement. If you agr ee to the terms of the License Agr eement, click "Accept" to continue. 3. The V ideoShop Read Me file will now be displayed. Click "Continue". 4. Select the desir ed install location then click "Install".

The pr ogram will launch and you will be pr ompted to enter your name and a r egistration number . Y ou will find the r egistration number printed on the Softwar e Installation CD label.
