6 General Instructions Your Weber Gas Barbecue is a portable outdoor cooking appliance. With the Weber Gas Barbecue you can grill, barbecue, roast and bake with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flavorizer Bars produce that "outdoor" flavor in the food.

11 Step 2 Assemble wheels Y ou will need: axle, two wheel hubcaps , two wheels , wheel frame, hammer and a b lock of wood. Place one end of the axle on the bloc k of wood (or other protected surf ace). T ap on one hubcap. Put one wheel on the axle, WEBER side to ward the hubcap .
12 Step 5 Complete frame assemb ly Y ou will need: par tial frame assembly , one frame connector with bushings , one frame connector without bushings , f our 1/4-20 x 2 inch bolts, f our nylon washers and a 7/16 inch wrench. Hold the frame connector , bushing side do wn, between the caster and wheel frame, abo ve the front panel.

14 Step 9 Install the three back panels Y ou will need: frame assemb ly and the three back panels . (Number 2) Place the bottom of one back panel on the bac k frame connector , notches to the top. Set in place to the f ar left, butting up against the caster fr ame.
15 Burner tubes F rame brace Y our W eber Gas Barbecue b urner assembly has been f actory assembled, pressure and flame tested. As a saf ety precaution we recommend y ou chec k the bur ner alignment: a) Do the valv es fit into the ends of the burners? Figure 13 (a).
16 Step 12 Install gas supply General Specifications for Piping Note - Contact y our local municipality f or b uilding codes regulating outdoor gas barbecue installations. In absence of Local Codes, y ou must conf orm to the latest edition of ANSI Z223.
17 Step 13 Check that all b ur ner valv es are off Y ou will need: one burner control knob . V alv es are shipped in the OFF position, but y ou should check to be sure . Put the knob on each v alv e. Chec k by pushing down and turning clockwise. If the y do not tur n, they are off , proceed to the next step .
18 Step 15 Install manif old brac ket Y ou will need: manif old brac ket Hook the brac ket onto the manif old at the center burner valv e. Figure 17. Place your hand underneath the brac ket. Lift the brac ket, manif old and cooking box slightly as a unit and hook onto the frame brace .
19 Step 18 Install bottom accessor y tra ys Y ou will need: two accessory trays Set the two accessory trays betw een the two frame connectors. Figure 21. Figure 21 Step 19 Install igniter Note - The igniter wires are already attached to the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber and the igniter .
20 Slot in frame (view from belo w) Inser t one end of the hinge rod into the hole in the frame. Figure 24 (a). Inser t the other end into the hole in the swing tab le end brac ket. F igure 2 4 (b). Hold the end brac ket at an angle so the lower tab is inside the fr ame tube.
21 P osition slide bar assembly on the outside of the caster frame. Put a n ylon washer on each 1 3/4 inch screw , inser t screws through fr ame and slide bar assemb ly and add nylon w ashers and he x nuts. Tighten nuts using a screwdriv er and pliers .

23 23 Step 22 Check f or gas leaks T o perform leak checks: Slide back the collar of the quic k disconnect. Push male fitting of the hose into the quick disconnect, and maintain pressure. Figure 32 (a). Slide the collar closed. Figure 32 (b). If it does not engage or lock, repeat procedure .
24 24 Check: a) Hose to manif old connection. Figure 33 (a). b) Manif old to side b ur ner hose connection. Figure 33 (b). W ARNING: If there is a leak at connections a or b, retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution.
25 Step 24 Install the bottom tra y Y ou will need: bottom tra y , catch pan holder , catch pan and one drip pan. 26 Step 27 Secure the side burner Pull the right hand swing tab le up . Stand to the r ight side of the barbecue. Slightly pull bac k both side b ur ner locks . Slide the side burner toward the control panel. The loc ks will snap into the slots in the front and back of the side burner .
27 Step 28 Install glass doors Y ou will need: one LH glass door assembly and tw o RH glass door assemblies . Star t with the LH door assembly . Inser t the long hinge pin at the top of the door into the plastic bushing in the underside of the left frame.

29 6) Check that the burner is lit by looking through the matchlight hole on the front of the cooking bo x. W ARNING: If the burner does not light, turn the Front b urner control knob to OFF and wait 5 minutes to let the gas clear bef ore you try again or try to light with a match.
30 Lighting the side b urner The side burner has a separate ignition system from the main cooking bo x. Lighting only the side b urner . Figure 3. 1) Open the side burner lid. 2) Check that the side b ur ner valv e is OFF (push down and turn clockwise), and all main burner control valv es are OFF (push down and turn clockwise).
31 Cooking W ARNING: Do not move the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT , CENTER and BACK b ur ners as desired. The control settings High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your W eber cookbook.
32 32 W ARNING: If there is a leak at connections a or b, retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution. If a leak persists after retightening the fitting, turn OFF the gas . DO NO T OPERA TE THE B ARBECUE.
33 33 General Maintenance W eber Spider Stopper Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue , as w ell as an y outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the venturi section of the b urner tubes. This bloc ks the nor mal gas flow , and can cause the gas to flow back out of the air shutter .
34 34 g) Lift and twist the burner assembly slightly , to separate the crossov er tube from the bur ners. Figure 14. Remov e the bur ners from the cooking bo x.
35 i) Reinstall the Spider Stopper Guards. Slightly rotate the Spider Stopper Guards so that the seams are in line with the V enturi fins. There should be no gaps in the seams or in the fit around the burners and valv es.
36 Prob lem Burners b urn with a yello w or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Burner does not light, or flame is low in HIGH position. Experiencing flare-ups: CA UTION: Do not line the bottom tray with aluminum f oil. Burner flame pattern is erratic.
37 37 Prob lem Side burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Flame is very yellow in conjunction with the smell of gas, OR Burner makes popping noise in conjunction with the smell of gas.
