2 FOREWORD The design of models ***-75 and 100 comply with the latest version of ANSI Z21.10.3-CSA 4.3 as automatic storage or automatic circulating tank type water heaters. Installation diagrams are found in this manual. These diagrams will serve to provide the installer with a reference for the materials and method of piping necessary .
3 GENERAL SAFETY INFORMA TION PRECAUTIONS DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE IF ANY P ART HAS BEEN UNDER W A TER. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been under water .

W ater heater life depends upon water quality , water pressure and the environment in which the water heater is installed.
6 If the unconfined space is within a building of tight construction (buildings using the following construction: weather stripping, heavy insulation, caulking, vapor barrier , etc.), air for combustion, ventilation and draft hood dilution must be obtained from outdoors.
7 VENT CONNECTION V ent connections must be made to an adequate stack or chimney . Size and install proper size vent pipe. Do not reduce pipe size to less than that of the draft hood outlet. Horizontal runs of vent pipe must have a minimum upward slope toward the chimney of 1/4 inch per foot.
8 Size the main gas line in accordance with T able 1. The figures shown are for straight lengths of pipe at 0.5 in. W .C. pressure drop, which is considered normal for low pressure systems. Note: Fittings such as elbows, tees and line regulators will add to the pipe pressure drop.

13 • If the back draft cannot be corrected by the normal method or if a suitable draft cannot be obtained, a blower type flue gas exhauster must be employed to assure proper venting and correct combustion.

15 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR PERIODIC REMOV AL OF LIME DEPOSITS FROM T ANK TYPE COMMERCIAL W A TER HEA TERS The amount of calcium carbonate (lime) released from water is in direct proportion to water temperature and usage, see chart.
16 Prepare the Water Heater T o delime the water heater using the Flo-Jug method, first prepare the heater for deliming. Then install the long plastic male adapter fitting into the drain valve opening of the water heater . Use teflon tape and hand tighten only .
17 PLUG THE TEMPERA TURE AND PRESSURE RELIEF V A L VE. Also, the leakage could be due to unusually high water pressures or temperatures in the system, or to a faulty relief valve. Y our dealer or a qualified service technician should be called to determine the cause of the problem and to correct it.
