G AS K ETTLES — 6 — G AS CONNECTIONS Gas supply connections and any pipe joint compound must be res istant to the action of propane gases. Codes require that a gas shuto f f valve be installe d in the gas line ahead o f the ke ttle. Connect the gas s upply line to the gas val ve on t he kettle.

— 14 — G AS K ETTLES VENTING W hile the kettle is cold, check the vacuum/pressure gauge. The ga uge sho uld be in the v acuum zone measuring between 20 to 30 in. Hg (84 to 100kPa). If n ot, t her e is air in the j ack et and it m ust be removed by venting f or pr oper heating.
