2 OVERVIEW Befor e starting th e installati on of th e hard ware an d softwar e for the Erg oFit Wireless Opti cal Mouse , please remove an y drivers or so ftware from an y mice that wer e previ ously installed on your computer .
3 HARDW ARE INST ALLA TION IMPORT ANT: Before connecting your mouse or installing the so ftware , be sure to identify the type of mouse port you are using (USB or PS/2). Refer to the diagrams below if you have difficulty determining which kind of port your mouse uses .

HARDW ARE INST ALLA TION Connecting the PS/2 Mouse PS/2 in Wind ows 98, Me , 2000, and XP 1. T urn off your computer . 2. Connect th e USB-to-PS/2 conn ector to the m ouse cable on the r eceiver . 3. Insert th e cable with the conn ector to the PS/2 (6-pin) m ouse port on your computer .
S ynchronizing your Mouse to your Receiver If the m ouse does n ot automati cally sync with th e receiver , h old the button on the r eceiver down f or thr ee seconds . This will put the r eceiver in to a non-ID (d efault) m ode that is optim al when th ere is only one m ouse and r eceiver presen t.
SOFTW ARE INST ALLA TION 7 IMPORT ANT: Do not install the software until the mouse is connected to your computer . If you have not yet connected the mouse , please follow the Hardware Installation instructions .
8 Y our new mouse has a wheel that can be used in two ways: • Rotate it to use it as a scroll wh eel. • Click it to use it as a scr oll button. IMPORT ANT: Universal scrolling must be enabled in order to use scrolling functions in applications; however , universal scrolling is not compatible with Microsoft® Office 97.
