4 Initial Camera Setu p In stalling the Bat tery In stalling the Memory Card Insert the battery (as shown). Make sure the lithium battery i s fully charged befo re first use (see below for detail s). SD Mem ory card ( up to 32GB) needed for norm al u se.
5 W hen pow ering the cam era ON f or th e first time the cam era wil l take you through the initial camer a setup. 1) Powering ON the Ca mera Lithium Battery: Installing and Charging Make sure th e battery has been in serted pr operly i nto y our digital cam era , accord ing to th e pol ar ity shown inside t he battery com par tm ent.
6 B. Charge the battery using the USB connection cabl e ( included) and the AC Charger (include d): - Conne ct one end of the US B cable into the US B port on your camera. - Connect t h e othe r end of the USB cab le t o th e A C Charger a nd the n plug t he A C Charger into a power socket.
7 NOT E : After the cam era is pow ered on, an SD i con w i ll appea r on the LCD display. If you do not see the SD icon on the display, please check if the card was inserted proper ly. Ma k e sur e t he S D ca rd is n ot lock ed (ch e ck t he loc k s w it ch on th e s ide of th e S D c ar d ).
8 3) Setting the Date an d T i me The ne xt step in the initial camera setup is to set the date and tim e o n the ca m e ra. Drag up or down to scroll and view the Date a n d Tim e opti ons. Set the Date and Time as desire d and tap SAVE & EXIT to confirm t he sel ection and m ove to the next part of the cam era setup .

13 Changing C amera M ode Your cam era ha s three m a in m odes: 1) Photo Capt ure M ode - Use this m ode to capture ph otos w ith your camera. 2) Video Capture Mode - Use th is mode to capture videos with your cam era. 3) Playback Mode (for photos and videos) - Use th is mode to view the photos and videos you have already taken with your cam era.

16 Ca mera Setup Menus The general settings for your digital cam era can easily be changed at any t ime. 1) Press the HOME button to the right of the LCD touch screen to open the Hom e screen o ptions. 2) Tap th e Setup ico n to enter the m enu options for your cam era general settings.
17 Camera Op tions: Flash , Macr o Switc h Flash Options There are several Flash opt io ns availab le o n your cam era. Th e opt ions appear on the Photo Capture Mode LCD screen in sequence. To change the Flash mode, tap the Flash icon on the left s ide of the LCD screen unt il you arrive a t your desired setting.
18 Macro Option Your digital camera contain s a M acro Switch that allow s you to manually enable or d isable the Macro m o de on you r camera. W hile using the Macro m od e, you can ca pture i m a ges at close range ( 10 ~ 25 cm).
19 Photo Ca pture Mo de The Photo Capture Mode allows you to capture pictures with your d igital camera. After powering on your digita l camera, by defaul t the Photo Capture Mode displays. To enter Photo Capture Mode: P re ss the HOME button. T ap the Camera icon to enter Photo Captur e Mode.

26 Face - Detect Menu The Face Detect feature when set to ‘On’ a llow s the ca mera to use a subj ect’s face as t he basis for bal anc ing the other colors and focus in the digital cam era ’s display. This feature is m eant to ensure that the color and focus of you r pictures will be cons isten tly sharp and h igh - quality.

38 Crop Image Menu You can crop any picture on your cam era with t he Crop feature. 1) View the photo you would like to crop. 2) Tap MENU to open the Mai n M enu Screen for the current m ode. 3) Tap the Crop m e nu i con. 4) A blue crop rectangle appears on the photo.
39 Video Cap ture Mode The Video Capture Mode allow s you to cap tur e videos with your d igital cam era. W hen the cam e ra is first pow ered ON, the ca m er a will be in Photo Capture Mode. After turning on your camera, press the HOM E button to open the Camera Mode options.

56 Frequency Menu The op tions in the Frequency m en u repr esent the frequency of the electrical current i n flu or escent ligh ting sources i n yo ur locale. If your cam era i s set to a frequency that does not m atch you r countr y’s ele ctr ic current, you m a y see fli ckering or w aves on the images taken by your cam era .

59 Installing the Software You mu st be c onnected to the in ternet to install and run the Vivitar Experience Im age Manager soft war e. 1) Insert the installation CD into your CD- ROM d ri ve. The i nstall ation screen should autom a tically open. 2) On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image M anager Installer window appears.
60 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your l anguage ” window opens, choose your la ngua ge and cli ck “Nex t” to open the next w i ndo w. 6) Select your camera m o del from the list and cli ck “Next” to open the next w in dow. 7) Click “ Next” to conf i r m yo ur camera model selection and to install the application.
