5 Quick Look at Y our Camera.
6 Prep a re Y our Camera for use Inst all batteries Y our camera requires three A AA batteries (alkaline batteries rec ommended ). Please refer to the following installation instruc tio ns : 1. Open the bat tery comp artment on the side of the camera.
7 W ARNING: Unless y ou are using an SD memory card, opening the battery comp artment and removing the battery will e rase the test photo currently s tored in the camera. Down load your pho to as often as po ssible. The test pho to will be lost wh en the camera sw it ch es -of f or when the batteries run low .
8 Locate the SD me mory card s lo t on the botto m o f the camera an d in sert a n SD me mory card a s above. Y ou will feel and hear a “ Clic k ” sou nd. W hen the ic on appea rs on the LCD screen this indicates that your SD card is in stal led correctly .
9 S t arting Y our Digit al Camera Power on Press t he Pow er button once to turn on your cam era . The LCD will lig ht up and t he ca mera w ill emit a “ beep ” to indicate that your ca mera is turne d on and ready for use. Power off Press t he Pow er button once t o turn off your camera.
10 The Camera mode is for you t o take stil l photos. Y ou can s hoo t video files while in Video mode. In Playback mode you can prev iew the photos/v ideos you captur ed , rot ate, protect, dele te, crop and print your ph otos.

13 Camera mode Set the m ode switch t o Camera Mode – the ic on will appear on the top right corne r of the LCD screen. T aking Photos 1. Hold the camera steady and co mpose yo ur objec t as appear s in the LCD screen. 2. Press the Shutter button and w ait a moment for the photo to be ta ken and saved to memory .
14 M acro/Far shooti ng The camera has t he function that allows you to c ap ture objects at very near (macro) or very far distan ces per you r request .
15 Note: A “ No Pow er ” message w ill appear on the LCD screen, if you select t he flash function when the bat tery pow er is insuf ficient . T o co ntinue using the ca mera w ith the fla sh, please inst all new batterie s.
16 2. Fro m the “This Image” or “This Video” message that appear s, p re ss Left/Righ t button to select “ Y es ” . 3. P res s the Menu /OK button t o confir m and for the selected ima ge to be de leted.
17 Camera mode – M enu setting opt ions T o access the Menu sett ing options for t he Ca mera m ode press t h e Menu button in the center of the Menu dial. 4 menu option s each w ith their ow n s ub menus w ill appear: Scene, Image Size, A nti -Shake and Setup 1.
18 3. Press the Up/D ow n button to s elec t the best scenery per your light condition and enviro nment. A uto, Night Portrait, Night Scenery , Portrait, S cene r y , Sport, Part y , Beach or High Sensitivity . 4. Press the M enu/OK bu tton to confi rm your sele ction and ex it to stand by mode.
19 Anti-Shake Y our Digital Camera has a functio n that preve nts photo s coming out blurr y as a result of tre mbling or shaking whe n taking the photo . Because of this function, you are not require d to use a t ripod to shoot steady photos. T o se t as belo w : 1.
20 2. Press the Right /Left button until yo u select the Se tup menu. Exposure This setting allows you to con trol the brigh tness o f your image s. 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to sele ct the Ex posure option in the Setu p menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button to open the Ex posure sub menu.
21 ISO This setting allow s you to select th e ISO set ting that you wa nt as per your current condition s . 1. Press Up/Dow n button to select t h e I SO option in the Setup menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button . 3. Press the Up/Do w n button to choose the ISO option fro m the ISO submenu that appe ars : Auto / 100 / 200 / 400 4.
22 Sharpness This setting allows you t o adjust the sharpn ess of yo ur i mages, making edge s more or les s distin ct. 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to sele c t the Sharp ness option in Setup menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button . 3. Press the Up/Do w n button to select a sharpne ss value.
23 Quality The quality settings determine the number of photos and the amount of memory require d for ea ch pho to. The bett er the quality , the more memory each photo will u se. The quality w ill also a ffe ct the maxi mum size you can prin t your phot o effe ctively .
24 Date This allow s you to set the system ti me which w ill be disp lay on the photos if yo u selec ted date on . 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the Da te opti on in the Setup me nu.
25 3. Press the Up /Dow n button to set the digit s for each of the da te, time and for mat options. 4. Press the M enu/OK bu tton to confi rm and ex it. Auto Power O ff By default your camera w ill automatically pow er off if id le for 60 second s. Use this opt ion to change the time.
26 Language Y our Digit al Ca mera supports 9 langu ages. 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the Langua ge op tion in the Setu p menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button . 3. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the lang uage of your choi ce: English / Portug uese / Spani sh / French / Germa n / Ital ian / R ussian / Dutch a nd T urkish 4.
27 Format This function refor m at s the memor y card and will erase all files in memory including files that have been pro tected, please ope rate ca utiously . 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the For m at option in the Se tup menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button .
28 Default Setting If you are not sure as to what s etting s have been activa ted on your c a mera you c an reset the camera to the original factory setting s. 1. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the De fault setting option in the Setup menu. 2. Press the Me nu/OK button .
29 Video M ode Mov e the mode sw itch to the cent er to a ctivate the Video mode . The ic on w ill appear on the top l eft cor ner of the LCD scree n. 1. Press the S hut ter button to begin shooting video s . The elapse t ime w ill appear on the top right of the LCD scree n.

33 Playing the A VI video file Select an A VI file you w ant to play . 1. Press the Shu tter bu tton to begin playing the A VI file. 2. Press the Shu tter bu tton to pa use an d again to cont inue. 3. Press the Up button to stop and ex it the video playback mode for selecting files or w ait until the file playback over .

35 3. Press the Up/Do w n button to select the “ Lo ck ” option. 4. Press the Me nu/OK button to con fir m and ex it. 5. A lock icon will appe ar on that i mag e wh en it appear on the LCD . 6. T o unlock a lo cked imag e, press the M enu/OK bu tton.
36 3. Press the Up/Do w n button to select: “ This image ” (photos) or “ This Vide o ” (videos) depend ing on the f ile selected t o delete the current photo or video “ A LL ” to delete all unpro tect ph ot os or video s “ Cancel ” to ex it.
37 4. Press the Me nu/OK button . 5. The Crop featur e open s. 6. Press the T /W buttons to out change the size of the rectangle (the ar ea you will crop ). 7. Press the Up/Dow n/Right/Lef t button to m ove the rect angle to select the area of the photo you wa nt to crop.

Conne ct your ca mera with the USB cab le to the Printer` s Pictb ridge USB so cket. 8. The follow ing menu w ill appear on ce the ca m era dete cts that it i s conn ected to the printer: 9.
39 12 . Wa it for the printer to pro cess your req uest. After a moment the pho to is printed . Note: Printing m any photos w ill take m ore time. Please be patient and wa it for all the pho t os to print. 13 . W h en t he print is finished , a Print Finished screen appears.
40 Inst all the V ivitar Experie nce Image M anager Software Y ou must be connected to the internet to inst all and run the Viv it ar E xperie nce Image Manage r sof tw are. 1. Insert the installa tion CD into your CD-R OM driv e. The inst alla tion scre en should auto matically open .

48 A ppendi x B: T roubleshooting Q: I have t aken photos but my c ompute r does not recogn ize my camera. What do I do ? A: First, ensure tha t you hav e in fact t aken pho tos. Press the Shutter/O K button a few times to t a ke some sample pho tos and then try dow nloading them again.
