2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this digital video recorder. Everything you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with y our digital video recorder. Vivitar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible . Note: Your camcorder needs an SD Memory card (up to 16GB) for normal use.

4 Initial Camcorde r Setup Installing the Batteries Installing the Memory Card Turning On the Camcorder Using the Camcorder Make sure the camcorder is powered OFF. Insert SD M emory card (up to 16GB) be fore use. Insert 3 X AAA (1.5V) batte ries.
5 W hen p owering the camcorder ON for the first time the camcorder will take you through the initial setup. Powering the Digital V ideo Recorder ON 1) Batteries Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital video recorder . Slide the battery cover on the b ack of the camera in a dow nward direction to open the co ver.
6 M ak e s u r e the SD c ar d i s no t l o c ke d ( ch e c k t he lo c k sw it c h o n the si de of t h e S D c ar d ) . I f the SD card is locked this will prevent the camcorder from saving captured photos to the SD card. 3) Power On Press and hold the POWER button to turn on the camco rder.
7 Main Camcorder Mod es Your digital video recorder has different modes for the various camcorder functions. You can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on y our digital video recorde r after the camcorder has been powered ON. Video Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital video recorder.

10 Powering ON/OFF Your Digita l Video Recorder Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital video recorde r . If your camcorder comes with a rechargeable lithium battery, make sure it is fully charged before the first use.
11 Changin g Camcorder Mode Your digital video recorder has three main modes: 1) Video Capture Mode - Use this mode to capture videos with your cam corder.
12 Navigating the Menu s Each camcorder mode has a set of menus specific to that mode. 1) Press the MENU button to open the menus for the current mode. 1) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control button to scroll between the various menus for the current mode.
13 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to capture videos w ith your digital video recorde r. W hen the camcorder is first powered ON, the Video Capture Mode will display by default. T aking a Video 1) W hile in Video Capture Mode use the LCD display to direct the camcorder a t the scene you would like to capture.
14 Video Capture Mode Quick Functi on Buttons Your digital video recorder has a four-directional pad and additional buttons that functions as Quick Function buttons.
15 V iviLink for V ideos Menu ViviLink Quick Function Button (Right Button): The ViviLink technology allows y ou to quickly and easily upload your camcorder ’ s photos and videos to the social netw orks of your cho ice with the accompan ying Viv itar Experience Image Manager application.
16 Video Capture Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camcorder ’s Video Capture Mode: Image Resolution Menu The Image Resolution menu allows you to ch oose the desired size of the images taken by your camcorder. Keep in mind that images with a larg er size will also ta ke up more of your camcorder ’s memory.
17 5) A se lected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to your previous mode. 8) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camcorder un til you manually change the setting.
18 Press the UP button to increase the volume during v ideo playback. Press the DOWN button to decrease the volume during video playback. Video Playback Mode Quick Func tion Buttons Your digita l video recorder has a four-directional pad and ad ditional buttons that functions as Quick Function button s.
19 Thumbnail View Easily navigate and select the image you wish to view by using the Thumbnail View. The images on your camcorder will be displayed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can use the direction buttons to scroll and select images from the thumbnails.
20 - Select ‘Yes’ then press the Shutter/OK button to delete the selected video. Delete All Images (all videos and photos): 1) Press the MENU or DELETE button to open the ‘Delete’ menu. 2) Press the UP or DOWN direction control button to highlight the ‘Delete All Images’ option, and then press the Shutter/OK button confirm and continue.
21 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with your digital video reco rder. When the camcorder is first pow ered ON, the cam corder will be in Video Capture Mode by default. Press the MODE button once to enter the Photo Capture mode.

27 JPEG files do not have any icons on the thumbnai l image 3) Press the Shutter/OK button for the selected image to appear in full screen. 4) Zooming Into the Image : Once in fu ll screen display mode, you can pr ess the UP or DOWN button to Zoom In and Zoom Out of the photo.
28 Delete All Images (all videos and photos): 1) Press the SET button to open the ‘Delete’ menu. 2) Press the UP or DOWN direction control button to highlight the ‘Delete All Images’ option and then press the Shutter/OK button confirm and continue.
29 Installing the Soft ware You must be connected to the internet to install and run the Vivitar Experien ce Image Manager software. 4) Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The installation screen should automatically open. 5) On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image Manager Installer window appears.
30 8) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow. 9) Select your camera model from the list and click “Nex t” to open the next window. 10 ) Click “Next” to confirm your camera model selection and to install the application.
31 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camcorder to Yo ur Compu ter NOTE : An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the USB connector during transfer. Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer. 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.
32 9) A media download progress bar appears on the bottom left showing the number o f media files downloading to your computer. A message appears w hen the download is complete. 10 ) The photo and video files that you selected are now downloaded to your computer to the selected folder and albums ready for your use.
