6 Preparing Y our C amera for U se Y our digital cam era needs 3 AAA batteries in order to operate. Alkaline batteri es are re comm ended . 1. Slide and open the battery door on the bot t om of the camera . 2. Insert the batter i es correctl y wit h the correct polarity facing up.
7 Installing SD M emory Car d Y our camera has very limited internal memory enough to take one test photo. An external mem ory card is required for normal use .
8 Note: 1. Limited internal memory is provided f or test images. The images will be deleted when t he c amera`s power is turned of f or if the batteri es are removed. Please dow nload the images before po wering off . 2. 3. 4. Formatting will delete all data on th e SD memory card including pro tected data.
9 How to hold your camera correctly when capturing ima ges Turn on the Pow er button to activate the Auto- Focus zoo m lens to op en out like a periscope. Hold the camera steady and correctly as shown is the diagra m below . Note: Do no t touch or move the le ns once it opens and is in u se.
10 St arting Y o ur Digital C amera Power on Press the P ower butt on on t he top of the camera to turn on your camera. The LCD will light up and the Auto-Focus zoo m lens will extend out indicating that your camera is on and ready for use. Power off Press the Power button to turn of f yo ur camera.

S cene included with your c amera are - Auto, Night Portrait, Night Scenery , Portrait, Scenery , Sport, P arty , Beach or High Sensitivity .

23 4. P ress the M ENU button to confirm, save and exit to the camera standby mode. 5. The ISO icon for the option you s elected appears on the botto m of the LCD. White Balance Thi s setting allows the camera to adjust the color of yo ur photos according to the co lor of yo ur light source.
24 4. Press the MENU but ton to confirm, save and ex it to the camera stan dby mode. 5. The LCD screen w ill be adjusted as per the White Balance option yo u selected. Sharpn ess Thi s setting allows you to adjust the s harpne ss of your im age s, making edges more or less distinct.

Quality The quality of your photos also affect s the number of shots yo u can ta ke. A HIGH settin g means you can t ake fewer photos, but they will be of better quality .
26 4. Press the MENU but ton to confirm, save and ex it to the camera stan dby mode. 5. The Quality icon for the op tion you selected appears on the botto m left corner of the LCD. Super quality Fine quality Normal quality Digita l Zoom Y ou can set the digi tal zoom functi on On or Off .
27 Date This allows you to s et the system time wh ich will be di splayed on the photos. 1. Press the Up/Down buttons to select the Date option in the Setup me nu. 2. Press the MENU button. 3. Press the Up/Down buttons to select a Date option f rom the Me nu that appears: ? On selecting “On” the date will appear on the pho to once it is taken .
28 3. P ress the Ri ght / Left button t o select and highlight the Y ear , Month, Day , Hour , Minute, Second and Date Format type. 4. P ress the Up/Down button to set the Date and T ime digits.
29 4. Press the Up/Dow n button to select a time that t he camera will automatically power off if inactive. Note : If you select None, the camera will not be powered off until the battery power is depleted or the ca mera is turned off m anually . 5. Press the MENU but ton to confirm, save and ex it to the camera stan dby mode.
30 Format This function will f ormat the memory card and will erase all files in memory including files that have been protected . Import ant: Please use this f unction with c aution. Once formatted all t he images s tored in the memory w ill be erase.
31 4. Press the MENU but ton to confirm. 5. If you selected OK , a Format confirmation message appears. 6. Press the Right/Lef t button to sele ct “Y es” to format, “N o” to exit.

If you selected OK , a Default Setting confirmation message will appea r: 7. Press the Righ t/Left button to select “Y es” to rese t to the default se tting or “No” to exit the menu.
33 V ideo Mode Press the MODE bu tton to select the Vide o mode. Note: The camera has limi ted internal memory and does not allow recording videos w ithout an S D card inserted. An SD card (up to 8GB) needs to be in serted in order to use the video mode normally .
34 Down load the test f ile from the internal memory to the PC or delete them to shoot more videos. Alternatively , you can inser t a SD memory card to ex pand the memo ry to record longer video s.
35 4. Press t he M ENU button to conf irm , save and exit t o the video standby mode. 5. The LCD screen will be adjusted as per the W hite Balance option y ou se lec t e d. Size Y our camera supports 2 video resolutions - 640x480 (VGA) pixels, 320x240 (QVGA) pixels.

Press the Up/Down buttons to s elec t a Macro option from the Menu that appears : Macro shooti ng - On : Far shoot ing - Off 4. Press the MENU button to confirm, save your choice and exit to the video standby mode.
37 Full scr een to T humbnail dis play W hen the camera is in the Playback Mode and an image appears on the LCD screen: 1. Press the W but ton . 2. This will open up the thumbnail display . 3. Press the Up/Down/Left/Right buttons and select a thumbnail of a photo or video .
38 Select the photo you wi s h t o rotate, protect , delete , crop or print . Rotate The rotate feature will only work for images on the SD card that is inserted. 1. Press t he M ENU button. 2. Press t he Right/Left button to select the rotate option.
39 Note: 1. Y ou cann ot rotate a protected file. On attempting to rotate a protected file a “ Thi s File is Wri te - Protected ” message will appear on t he screen. 2. “ No card ins erted ” w ill appear on the s creen if no SD card is i nse rt.
40 5. If you select Lock, a l oc k ic on will appear at the top of the LCD for t he photo or vi deo select ed. Note: T o “Unlock” the c urre nt file f oll o w steps 1 through 4 . S el ect “ Unloc k ” and press the M ENU button to unlock the current fil e.
41 4. Pre ss the M ENU button to confi rm. 5. A Delete c onfirmation mess age appears. 6. Press t he Right/Left button to select “ Ye s ” or “ No ”. 7. Press t he M ENU button to conf irm and delet e t he image(s) . Note: Y ou can not delete file s that are locked.
42 1. Press t he M ENU button. 2. Press t he Right/Left button to select the Crop option. 3. Press t he Up/Down button to s elect Crop or C ancel . 4. Press t he M ENU button. 5. A blue crop rectangle appears on the photo in the LCD screen. 6. Press t he W or T but tons t o determi ne t he size of the area to crop.
43 Y ou can print the phot os directly from the camera wit h a Pictbridge com pat i bl e p r int er . 1. Select the phot o you w ish to print. 2. Press t he M ENU button . 3. Press t he Right/Left button to select the Pictbridge menu . 4. Press t he Up/Down button and select Pictbri dge to print phot os or press Canc el to exit the m enu.

45 4. Press the MENU but ton. 5. If you select Lock, a lock icon will appear at the top of the LCD for the video sele cted. Note : T o “Unlo ck” the curr ent file follow step s 1 through 4. Sele ct “Unlock” and press the M ENU button to unlock the current file.

47 1. On the “Install your c amera software” screen, select your camera m odel from the drop down list and click the “Inst all” button to install the PhoT ags Express sof tware. For more installation information click the “Read Me First ! ” button.
48 2. On the “PhoT ags Express" sc reen, click the “ Next” button. 3. Please review the license terms and click the “ I Ag r e e ” butt on to continue.
49 4. Let the “PhoT ags Express” installer create the folder where the program will be installed to, and then cli ck “Install” ..
50 5. Please wait while the applicat i on is being installed on your computer . 6. Once the applic ation has been installed on your computer , click the “Fi nis h” button to le t the “Ph oT ags Express” installer finish the installation program.
51 If you select ed the option for the application to start after pressing the Finish button, the applicat i on will automaticall y l aunch. If not, then in order to open the applic ation you need to double click on the Photags Express icon on the desktop.
52 Everythi ng you need to get the most from y o ur photos The “PhoT ags Express” software that is installed on your computer allows you to edit existing photos that you have on your computer as well as the photos that you have captured with your cam era.
53 Manage y our phot os by creati ng countless unique photo col lections without duplicat ing any photos. Burn CD’s of any folders for backup and storage. Enhance y our photos ; A uto Enhance, Crop, Correct Red Eye, Manually A dj ust and add Spe cial Effects.
54 Download photos and v ideos to y our PC Transfer Phot o a nd V ideo images f rom y our camera to your PC using PhoT ags Express. Select the “G et Photos” button fr om t he top of the PhoTags Express Main Menu screen.
55 The Get Photos Wizard opens. Select the device (removable disk ) opti on i n the Active Devices window on the left and then select either the “Custom ” or “Express” copy radial button in the Copy methods box. Note: If you do not see your camera in the list press the Refresh button.
56 CUSTOM COPY MET HOD Select the “ Custom” copy radial button. Click the “Next” butt on. Add Active Captions to your pictures. You can add a date, keywords, categories and more. Click “Next” to c ontinue. Choose where to place your photo s and v ideos.
57 Click the “Finish” button to start t he download process . A photos download progress bar appears showing the num ber of media (videos included) downloading to your computer.
58 All the m edia – Photos and Videos on your camera are now dow nloa ded t o your computer to the selected f older . Open the “Select P hotos” mode of Photags Express to view the thumbnails for all the media. You may now use PhoTags Express to edit your photos, create collect i ons and Burn CD`s.
59 To learn more of how to get the most out of your PhoTags application select the “ Sh ow M e How ” or the “ ? ” Help Guide button found on the top right of the screen.

61 1. Click on the MY COMPUTER Icon on the desktop. 2 . Y our memory card will appear as a REMOV ABLE STORAGE DE VI CE. 3 . Click on the REMOV ABLE STORAGE DEVICE to view the images. The i mages are stored in the subfolder c alled DCM100. 4 . Y ou can now copy and pas te the images to any directory you choose.

64 A p pendix B: T roublesh o oting Q: I have taken photos but m y co mputer sa y s, “ No photos in camera. ” What do I do? A : F irst ensure that you have in fact ta ken photos. P ress the Shutter button a few times to take some sample photos and then try downloading them again.
