4 1. INTRODUCTION Congratulations on selecting the V ector ElectroMate™ Model VEC095 Auxiliar y AC/DC Power System. ElectroMate is an advanced power and jump-start system with unique features that set it far above the value and utility of ordinar y jump-starters, por table tire compressors and auxiliar y AC and DC Power Supplies.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION This advanced system design is ideal for emergencies and can also enhance your fun by powering AC or DC appliances on the road, field location, in the garage and at the campsite. Please read this guide carefully before use to ensure best perfor mance and avoid damage to the system or items that you are using it with.
6 BA TTERY CLAMPS CHARGER STORAGE HA TCH Jump-Start Cables and Protection ElectroMate is equipped with extra heavy duty 78 inch (2 meters) long, 9mm 2 diameter cables and heavy duty clamps. The cable storage area and cables are shown in Figure 3. T o release clamps from unit squeeze handles.
7 For excellent light distribution, the light can be hooked onto the cross member of the extended handle. The fluorescent light can be completely removed from the Main Unit’ s storage channel and powered from any DC accessor y socket in vehicle, vessel or portable 12 volt DC supply .
8 NOTE: Other appliances may also be used with the ElectroMate as long as they do not exceed the 30 ampere DC limit of the units’ cigarette lighter type socket or the 1000 watt AC limit of the power inverter . Call V ector toll-free (866) 584-5504 for information on V ector AC and DC appliances.
9 4. USE AS A 12 VOL T DC POR T ABLE POWER SUPPL Y W ARNING: NEVER INSERT A CIGARETTE LIGHTER IN ELECTROMA TE’S ACCESSORY SOCKET . 1. Lift up the cover of one of the 12 V olt DC Accessor y Sockets. 2. Insert the 12 VOLT DC plug from the appliance into the Accessory Socket.
10 simulates a short to ground and pops the breaker . This tur ns off the outlets. Pressing the RESET button allows the outlets to turn on and provide power . Use with Appliances Make sure the AC appliance can operate on 110/120 volts 60 Hz AC modified sine wave (MSW) most appliances sold in the USA can.
11 5.3 Operating Time V ector recommends that the operator recharge the batter y system as frequently as possible using the supplied VEC077EM Batter y Charger . This will guard against any unexpected shutdown of the equipment and will ensure that there is always sufficient batter y capacity .
12 SAFE - Do not use the inverter near flammable materials or in any location that may accumulate flammable fumes or gases. The switch and clamp connections can cause sparks.
13 6.1 Compressor Use IMPORT ANT: Read Instructions carefully to avoid possible injury or property damage. The Compressor may be used by removing the air hose from it’ s storage channel and fitting the tire chuck to the tire or inflatable. An On/Off switch located on the compressor controls the power .
14 6.5 Inflating Items Without a a Tire Stem Three inflation adapters are stored in the compressor’ s DC Cord Storage Hatch. Select and connect the appropriate adapter to the compressor’ s tire chuck. Insert the adapter into the item to be inflated.
15 8.1 AC Recharge Recharge requires the use of the supplied VEC077EM Automatic Batter y Charger . The charger must be powered from a 110 volt AC, 60 Hz North American standard household AC receptacle. T ypical recharge time is ten hours. CAUTION: NEVER OPERA TE THE VEC077EM CHARGER FROM ELECTROMA TE’S POWER INVERTER.
16 To check the batter y status, press the Batter y Status Display Push-button. If the Jump-Starter’ s batter y is fully discharged, it is recommended that the host vehicle or boat’ s engine being used for recharging be left operating while the unit is being charged using the 12 V olt DC/DC method.
17 Appendix A – Battery Installation In most cases, the seald lead-acid batter y is installed by the user . The batter y is easily installed using the provided hardware. The user will need a medium Phillips head screwdriver and a wrench to do the batter y installation.
18 Appendix B Extending Operating Time Longer operating time can be realized by connecting ElectroMate to an external batter y . The external batter y will combine the Ampere Hour ratings of connected batteries.
