The appliance is designed for use in the home and for the above-mentioned purpose only. No li ability is assumed fo r any damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

2 Your appliance 12 Programme progress display The programme progress d isplay shows the sta ge at which the programme is at. The corresponding time remaining for th e programme is shown in the digital display. Indicator lights The buttons for the main programmes a nd certain additional programmes are equipped with an indicator light.
2 Your appliance 13 2.4 Using for the first time Before using the newly installed appliance for the first time, the fo llowing work should be carried out. Transport lock Running the first wash cy cle without any washing ➤ Run an empty wash cy cle to remove any residues from th e manufacturing process.

3 Programme overview 17 Steam anti- crease Dry, creased washing is parti ally uncreased and made damp, ready for ironing. ➤ Load the washing (max. 1.5 kg). ➤ Close the app liance door. ➤ Press the button. – appears in the digital dis play. The steam finish at the end of the programme signific antly reduces creasing in the washing.

3 Program me overvie w 20 Soap wash (softener + soap det ergent) The programme seque nce is adapted for the use of multi-comp onent deter- gents (softener + soap detergen t). The softener (com partment I ) and the soap detergent (compartment II ) are added to the wash one af ter the other.
21 4 User settings Providing no programme is running and no error message is displayed, the user settings can be changed with the appliance door open or cl osed. The procedure is generally the same for all settings. Changing user setti ngs ➤ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.

4 User settings 23 4.1 Rinsi ng There are 5 diff erent settings for ri nsing intensity. «Standard» • Normal wa ter level «More water» • The water level is increa sed by 1–3 cm dur ing main wash and each rinse cycle. «+1 rinse» • An extra rinse cycl e is added to each prog ramme.
4 User settings 24 4.2 Soaking If «soaking ON» is programmed the desired soa k duration can be set in 30 minute steps with button afte r selection of the main programme. Possible settings: (30 min. soaking) up to (6 h. soaking). Switch soaking on/off ➤ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
4 User settings 25 4.3 Spin speed Each programme and combina tion of programmes is as signed an optimum spin speed at the factory. This can be adjusted to suit individual nee ds. Setting ma ximum spin sp eed ➤ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
4 User settings 26 4.4 Hygiene recommendation It is common nowa days to select programmes with temperatures belo w 60 °C in order to save energy. These achiev e perfectly good resul ts with lightly soiled every day washing.
4 User settings 27 4.5 Childproof lock The childproof lock is to prevent small children accidentally sta rting or stopping a programme. When the childproof lock is on, a programme can only be started by pres sing two buttons simultaneously. Switching th e childproof l ock on/off ➤ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
4 User settings 28 4.6 Automatic door opener If the automatic door o pener is on, the applia nce door opens automati cally at the end of the programme . Otherwise i t remains closed and can be opened by pressing the button. Switching the automatic door opener on/off ➤ Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds.
29 5W a s h i n g Preparing t he applian ce ➤ Ensure that the foreign body trap 1 is sitting properly. ➤ Plug the appliance in at the mains or turn the wall switch on. – The appliance switches on. ➤ Turn the water tap on. ➤ Press the button to open the appliance door.
5 Washing 30 Loading the appliance ➤ Load dry washing (max. 8 kg). • If washing normally soil ed whites and coloureds, fill the washing drum. • If washing hea vily soiled whites and colo ureds, fill the washing drum max.
5 Washing 31 5.1 Adding washing detergent ➤ Pull the detergent dispe nser drawer out as f ar as it will go. Powder deter gent If using powder dete rgent, flap 1 in compartment II must be open. ➤ Lift flap 1 and push back. Liquid detergent If using liquid detergent, flap 1 in compartment II must be closed.
5 Washing 32 Detergent dosage The amount of detergent required depend s on the degree of s oiling as w ell as the wash lo ad, the hardness of the water a nd the product being used .
5 Washing 33 Fabric conditio ner Do not fill with fabric condit ioner past the «MAX» mark. Do not use fabric conditioner if drying the washin g in a tumble dryer.
5 Washing 34 5.2 Programme selection «Press and go» A main programm e can be started at th e press of a si ngle button. All the necessary settings for the programme are provided autom atically. Select or deselect any additional programmes or functions by pressing the relevant buttons.
5 Washing 35 Selecting addit ional programme ➤ Press the required button when the indicator light flash es. – The new programme d uration appears i n the digital di splay. Changing the te mperature ➤ Immediately after selecting a programme, pre ss the button repeatedly until the desired tempera ture appears in the digital dis play.
5 Washing 36 Changing the spin speed ➤ Immediately af ter selecting a progra mme, press the button repeatedly until the desire d spin speed appe ars in the digita l display. The recommended and ma ximum settable spin speed depend s on the programme selecte d.
5 Washing 37 Selectin g delayed sta rt ➤ Immediately after se lecting a programme, hold th e button depressed or press repeatedly until the desir ed delayed start duration (max. 24 hours ) appears in the digital display. – The digital display goes dark.
5 Washing 38 Selecting bio wash/s oap wash ➤ Select programme. ➤ Press the button 2×. – The digital display sh ows for bio wash. ➤ Press the button 3×. – The digital display shows for soap wash. Selecting separa te rinsing/separate s pinning ➤ Select programme.
5 Washing 39 Opening the appli ance door during operation The appliance door can only be opened if the water level and temperature are still low and th ere is no spinning in pr ogress. As long as the indicator light for the button is illuminated, the appliance door can be opened.
5 Washing 40 5.4 Programme selection with childproof lock activated How to turn the childpr oof lock on/off is described in U SER SETTINGS . ➤ Close the appliance do or. – The digital display shows: . – The indicator lights for the programme buttons flash.
5 Washing 41 5.5 End of programme Loosening up the washin g Shortly before the end of the programme , the washing is loosened up. This takes about 1–2 minutes. If steam an ti-crease has been selected, the loosenin g-up period i s extended to about 60 minutes to prevent further creasing.
5 Washing 42 With «Stop after rinsing» The washing remains l ying in the water after the final rinse . The water must be drained off be fore the washing can be unloaded. ➤ Press the button 1×. – The washing is spun at the spee d set for the prog ra mme selected.
43 6 Care and maintenance Using the correct dosage of washing detergent will automatically clean the inside of the appliance. I mmediately wipe awa y all traces of wash ing detergent from the chrome steel with a soft cloth to avoid stai ning.
6 Care and maintenance 44 6.3 Emergency draining In the event of a blocked water outl et or drain pump, a malfunction or a power failure, if there is water still in the appliance it must be drai ned off as follows: ➤ Open drain tray 2 by pressing in the bottom area.
6 Care and maintenance 45 6.4 Cleaning the foreign body trap The foreign body trap 1 must be periodically cleaned of any deposits. ➤ Drain off any residual water, see E MERGENCY DRAINING . ➤ Then turn the foreign body trap 1 anti-clockwise and remove.

7 Trouble-shooting 55 … traces of fabric conditioner or water left beh ind in the fabric cond itioner compartment … the washing load is still dry at the end of the programme and no error message is displayed Possible cause Solution • The siphon in the fabric conditioner compartment is missing or is not in place correctly.
7 Trouble-shooting 56 7.2 Opening the appliance door in the event of a power failure ➤ Turn off the water tap. ➤ Disconnect the ap pliance from the electricity supply. ➤ Open drain tray 2 by pressing in the bottom area. Or ➤ Remove quick operating i nstructions 1 from the wash detergent drawe r and open drai n tray 2 .
57 8 Washing tips Fabric care s ymbols To wash items correctly, please follow the fabric care symbols on the labels of the wash items. Washing detergent The wash temperature selecte d should agree with the recommend ed temper- ature range of the washing detergent to ensure the washing dete rgent is at its most effective.
8 Washing tips 58 Net curtains If washing curtains made from mixed or man-made f ibres: • Ask the retailer whether the curtains are machine washable a nd, if so, at what water temperature. • Fill the washing drum only a quarter full. • Tie up metal rollers and pl astic sliders using an open weave fabric.
8 Washing tips 59 The most efficient programme... ... for normally soiled washing at 40 °C ➤ Hold the button depressed for 3 se conds to select the 40°C intensive programme for normally soiled washing. ➤ Increase the spin speed to 1500 rp m by repeatedly pressing the button.
8 Washing tips 60 Spin speed How much energy is consumed by subs equent tumble drying depends on the spin speed set. The higher the spin speed set, the lower the level of residual moisture in the washing at the end of the programme. Automatic door opener Use the appliance wi th the automatic door opener turned on.

10 Technical data 68 10.2 VAS Vibration Absorbing System As the washing drum starts to spin, if the control system detects that the load is out of balance it will interrupt the spinni ng action once or more . The appliance tries the reby to distribute the load more evenly inside the wa shing drum.
