WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CO Carbon monoxide (CO) is an insidious poison. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas. It is a cumulative poison. Even low levels of CO have been shown to cause brain and other vital organ damage in unborn infants with no effect on the mother.

DEVELOPING YOUR OWN CO SAFETY PLAN This CO alarm can quickly alert you to the presence of CO - it cannot prevent toxic CO emissions. The display will indicate the current CO readings (if higher than 30ppm) or three dashes (Model CD-9690). SERVICE/TROUBLE CONDITION Periodically, the alarm's measurement circuit is tested.
Page 7 MAINTENANCE BATTERY REPLACEMENT The CO alarm is powered (backup) by a 9V battery. A fresh battery should last for one year under normal operating conditions.
