Y our radio uses 4 AAA ALKALINE or optional NiMH batter y pack (UH041P includes NiMH batter y pack) batteries for power . UH041/UHO41P GETTING ST ARTED T o avoid damage to the unit do not mix old and new batteries. T o install the batteries: 1. Make sure your radio is off .
If the Batter y level becomes low , the batter y indicator icon on the LCD begins flashing.. LOW BA TTERY ALERT When the batteries in the unit are low , the unit will go into a Batter y Low Mode.

7 TO OPERA TE IN DUPLEX MODE Duplex mode is only available from CH01 – CH08. Duplex mode is activated on a per channel basis and transmitting frequency on Duplex channels is CH31 – CH38. E.g., If the Repeater channel for your area is CH01, then while in Duplex mode the T ransmit channel will become CH31 with the Receive channel being CH01.
REPL Y DELAY While scanning, the stops at a busy channel and receives a transmission.
