[26] GETTING START ED www.uniden.com Setting the Ring Ti me Ring Time allows yo u to set the n umber of rings the caller hears before your answe ring system plays the ou tgoing message . Y ou can s et the ring ti me to answer af ter two, four , or six rings.
GETTING S TARTED [ 27] www.uniden.com Setting the Message Al ert On or Off Messag e Alert sounds an alert tone when you have an unhear d messag e . If you set the Mess age Alert on, when ever a new messag e is received, th e soft alert tone will sound every 15 seconds.

[30] GETTING START ED www.uniden.com Setting CIDCW (Cal ler ID on Call W aiting) Caller ID on Call W aiting (CIDCW) disp lays the nam e and n umber of an incoming call while yo u are on the line . Call Waiting Deluxe (CWDX) allows y ou to ha ndle call waitin g calls in seven differ en t w ays.
GETTING STAR TED [31] www.uniden.com Setting the Dial Mode Sets the dial mod e to tone or puls e . Most phon e systems use tone dialing; th e def ault setting is tone dialin g. Set the dialin g mode to match the di aling system used by your local phone service .
[32] GETTING START ED www.uniden.com De-r egister the H andset Deregister HS clears the han dset’s ID from the m ain base unit or the base ID from the handset. Y ou will usually on ly der egister the handset if you are having a problem with your phone or if you need to change the di gital se curity code .

[40] BASICS www.uniden.com Travelling Out of Range During a call, as you b egin to move your handset too far from your base un it, noise may in crease . If you pass the r ang e limits o f the base unit, you will hear a beep and see Out of Range on the display , and th en the han dset return s to standby m ode .
BASICS [41] www.uniden.com Confere ncing Once a call is i n progress, up to two addition al people can join i n as a conference call. A conference call consists of a calle r on an outside line , up to two parties on handsets, and up to one party on the base un it.
[42] PHONEBOOK www.uniden.com Phonebook (S toring Phone Numbers, Names, Distinctive Rings and Speed Dial) Y ou can store nam es and numbers in your phon e's phonebook, search for n am es alphabetically , and dial phonebook entri es with just a few key presses.

When the teleph one rings , the Caller ID feature allows you to view the caller’s nam e , phon e number , date and time of call.
