– 4 – Connect the Char ger 1 Connect the AC ad apter to the DC IN 9V jack and to a stand ard 120V AC wall outlet. 2 Set th e char ger on a d esk or tabletop, and place t he handset in the charg er with the keypad fac ing fo rwa rd. 3 Make su re t he charg e LED illuminates .
– 5 – For Main Base Model TRU8888 (c orded base model) 1 With th e main base in s tandby m ode (i.e . not being used), pre ss the MENU so ft key on the base. 2 Use the up/d own key to select HS Regis tration , and then pr ess the OK soft key . 3 Use the u p/ dow n key to se l ec t Register Ha ndset .
– 6 – Installing the Beltclip T o attach the beltclip Insert the beltclip into the holes on each side o f the handse t. Press d own un til it clicks . To r e m ov e t h e b e l t c l i p Pull either sid e of the beltclip to release the tabs from th e holes.

– 9 – Main Menu Options Adjusting the V olume • To adjust ring er volume , press the MENU so ft key , selec t the Han dset Setup menu, an d then the Ring er Volum e submenu. Use or to select "High t", "Low", or "Off." Press th e OK soft k ey .
– 10 – Making and Receiving Calls Using a Headset Y our phon e may be used with an optional headset. T o use this feature , insert the headset plug into the headset jack. Y our phone is ready f or hands- free conversation s. (Headset may be pur chased by calling th e Un id en P arts Departm ent or visiti ng the web site .
– 11 – Conferencing T o join a call already in pr ogress, press t alk/flash . If ther e are already two handsets on a call or anoth er station is in privacy mode , the displa y will show Unavailable . Intercom T o page anoth er station, press intcom/hold .

– 14 – Cleaning the battery charg ing contacts T o maintain a good char ge , clean the charg ing contacts on the ha ndset once a month. Dampen a cloth with plain water , an d wipe the charging contacts clean. Be sure to dry the contacts thoroughly befor e returning the handset to the charger .
