– 2 – We l c o m e Congr atulatio ns on your pur chase of th e Uni den DCX770 han dset and charg er . This e xpansi on handset is for use with th e DMX7 series (e .g., DMX776, DMX778, etc .). Each main base mode l in this series can support up to f our handsets .
– 3 – Step 1: Connect the Charger 1 Connect the AC ad a pter to the DC IN 9V jack and to a stand ard 120V AC wall outlet. 2 Set th e char ger on a d esk or tabl etop, and place the handset in the charg er with th e keypad facin g forwar d. 3 Make su re t he charge LED illuminates.
– 4 – Step 2: Register the Handset Y OU NEED TO REGISTER THE DCX770 TO A MAIN BASE BEFO RE USE! 1 Be sure the han dset battery is fully charged . 2 With the main base in standby mod e (i.e., not being used), place the han dset in the m ain base to begin r egistrati on.
– 5 – Using Y our Expansion Handset Now that your new handset is r egistered, it can perform all the sa me function s a s the handsets ori ginally inclu ded with your phone .
– 6 – Select the highli ghted option by pressin g the center of the joystick. (Y ou can also press the OK soft key .) An yt ime the display prompts you to press OK or Enter , you can press the center of the joysti ck. Y ou can go back to the previous men u at any time by pr essing the BACK soft key .

– 8 – Creating and Editing Phonebook Entries T o go to the phon ebook, press the joystick to th e left and press th e OPTION soft key . Select New Entry . E nte r the na me, nu mb e r , u ni qu e ri ng, u ni q ue display , phonebook group, and speed dial as you want.
– 9 – Installing a Repl acement Battery Follow the steps if yo u need to replace a battery . 1 Press down on the han dset battery case cover (use th e fing er inden tion for a better grip) and slide the cover dow nward to re mov e. 2 Remove th e existing battery and unplug the connector from the jack.
