Impor tant Safety Instructions 2 UPS Location W arnings • Install the UPS indoors, away from excess moisture or heat, dust or direct sunlight. • For best performance, keep the indoor temperature between between 32º F and 104º F (0º C and 40º C).
3 Quic k Installation Connect the UPS to an electrical outlet. Make sure the outlet does not share a circuit with a heavy electrical load such as an air conditioner or refrigerator . Plug a computer , monitor and/or other equipment into the UPS system.
4 ON/OFF Button: Switch the Operating Mode: While the UPS is plugged into a live AC outlet, press the ON/OFF button and hold it until the UPS beeps (about 2 seconds) to toggle between ON and OFF . • ON Mode: ENABLES battery backup. UPS Conditions: The UPS charges the battery and supplies power to the outlets while receiving utility line power .
5 MUTE/TEST Button: Silence the UPS On-Battery Alarm: Press and hold this button to silence the UPS on-battery alarm, a series of short beeps followed by a brief pause that is activated when the UPS is providing AC power from battery .
6 AC Receptacles: “UPS/Surge” receptacles are used to provide connected equipment with AC line power during normal operation and battery power during blackouts and brownouts.
7 Storage All connected equipment should be turned off, then disconnected from the UPS to avoid battery drain. Unplug the UPS from its AC receptacle, then press and hold its ON/OFF button to deactivate it.
