6 Using the Appliance Before Use Remove all securing tapes. Wash the inside of the appliance with luk ewarm water with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5 ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger . Dr y the appliance thoroughly .
7 Hints & T Hints & T ips ips Normal Operating Sounds Y ou ma y hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing. When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
8 Thawing Deep frozen or froz en food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature, depending on the time available. Small food items ma y even be cook ed from frozen, in this case cooking will take longer .
9 F reezer The freezer compar tment will become progressively covered with frost. This should be removed with the special plastic scr aper provided, whenever the thickness of the frost reaches 1 / 4 . During this operation it is not necessar y to switch of the power supply or to remove the f oodstuf fs.

16 V entilation Requirements The appliance must have adequate ventilation to ensure correct operation. Tilt the appliance backwards, resting the top edge of the appliance on a stool or something similar .
18 Change of door opening direction of froz en food compar tment Af ter changing the out er door opening direction at this t ype it is necessar y to remount the door of the frozen food compar tment as well. Proceed as follows. Pull out the bottom pin holding the door of the frozen food compar tment (1).
