User’s Manual Transcend JetFlash ® SecureDrive Thank you for purchasing Transcend’s USB Flash drive with built-in 256-bit AES encryption security. JetFlash ® SecureDrive helps you safeguard data by creating a private, password-protected area on your JetFlash drive.

Creating a Private Zone and Setting a Password CAUTION! When you create a Priv ate Zone, SecureDrive will re-format your JetFlash drive— all data will be erased! Please backup all impor tant data to a different drive before pr oceeding 1. Plug the JetFlash drive into your computer.

7. A message will appear when the pr ocess is complete. Click OK t o continue and unplug your JetFlash drive from the computer. Plug the drive back into your computer to start using the Private Zone. Figure 2-6 Note: You must unplug your JetFl ash from the computer after for matting.
Using the Private Zone 1. Once you have created a Private Zone, simply open My Computer, find the CD ROM drive titled “Secur eDrive” and double-click the SecureDrive.exe file within. Figure 3-1 2. To login your Private Zone, enter your password and click Login .

4. Click the Minimize button or the “ X ” in the upper-right corner to temporarily close the SecureDriv e window (your Private Zone wil l still be accessible). 5. To r e-open the SecureDrive windo w, simply double-click the JetF lash SecureDrive icon in the Windows System Tray.
Resizing Your Private Zone WARNING: Resizing your Private Zone will c ompletely erase the drive. Ple ase backup essential data to a diffe rent drive before proceeding 1. Run the SecureDrive applicati on and log in to your Private Zone . 2. Close any applications t hat are currently accessing files store d in your Private Zone.

Logging Out of Your Private Zone 1. Save and close any files stored in your Private Zone that you a re currently accessing. 2. Double-click the JetFlash Secur eDrive icon in the Windows syste m tray to open the SecureDrive window. 3. Select the “Status” tab and click the Logout button.
Changing Your Password 1. Select the "Set Password" tab and enter your current password, your desired new password, the new pa ssword again to confirm, and a “ hint ” in case you forget the new password (optional). Figure 6-1 2. Click OK .

Closing the Program To close SecureDrive, right-click the “JetFlash SecureDrive” ic on in the system tray and select “ Exit ”. Completely closing the pr ogram will a lso log you out of your Private Zone, which means y ou will no longer be able to ac cess protected files unless you restart Secu reDrive.
FAQ Q: SecureDrive doesn’t run when I double-click its icon. What’ s wrong? A: You most likely are not using your own computer and do not have Administrator privileges on the computer you are using.
