1 Introduction ︱ Congratulations on purchasing T ranscend’ s S tor eJet 25 . This rugged, ultra-portable, hi gh speed USB st orage device is the per fect dat a management system for uploading, dow nloading, s toring and trans ferring y our data .

2 Transporting • Do not pack the StoreJet 25 into luggage without proper padded support. Other items in your luggage may dama ge the drive during travel if it does not have prope r protection. • Avoid squeezi ng or compressing the StoreJe t 25. • Do not place objects on top of your StoreJet 25 .
3 Connecting to a Co mputer ︱ 1. Plug the small end (1) of the USB cable into the S toreJet 25. 2. Plug BO TH large ends (2) and (3) of the USB cabl e into an av ailable U SB 2.0 o r USB 3. 0 por t on your desktop or no tebook computer . NOTE : Always plug bot h large ends of the Y -cable into your computer .
4 3. A new Local Disk drive with a new ly-assigned drive lette r w ill appear, and a Remov able Hardware icon will appear on the W indow s System Tray. The S toreJet 25’s internal hard drive comes pre- formatted t o F A T32, which is compa tible wi th most computer systems, including W indows, M ac, Linux, and more.

Once connected, you can use the S toreJet 25 as an external hard driv e to transfer da ta to and from your computer .
6 One Touch Backu p ︱ ︱ ︱ ︱ (Select StoreJet mode ls only ) To enable the One Touch auto-backup button, you must first run the prel oaded Transce nd Elite software (located in the Transcend Elite di rectory of your StoreJet).
7 Disconnecting from a Computer ︱ ︱ ︱ ︱ NEVER disconnect the S toreJet from a Computer when its LED is flashing. Windows 1. Select the Hard ware icon on the system tray . 2. The Safely Remov e Hardware pop-up w indow will appear .
8 Linux ® Execute umount /mnt/S torejet to un-mount the devi ce. T hen unplug your S toreJet 25 from the USB port..
9 Formatting the Ha rd Drive ︱ W A RNING! Formatting the disk will erase al l of the dat a on y our StoreJet 25. Y ou must have A dmi nistrator Right s to format in Windo ws. Windows ® XP 1. Download the S toreJet Format Utility from T ranscend ’s online Download Center at www .
10 8. A confirmation window will appear . Press OK to b egin formatting the driv e. 9. The format pr ocess may take a f ew minutes. When complete, an “ O.K. ” m essage will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the window . 10. Click the “ Close ” button to finish and ex it.
11 4. Unplug all other USB storage devices from y our compu ter . This is to prevent accidental format of a dif ferent USB driv e. 5. Right-click “S toreJetFormatter . exe ” and select “R un as Ad ministrator .” 6. The User Account Contro l window will appea r .

17 I inst alled an OS onto the StoreJet 25. Why can’t I boot from it? Current USB 3.0 hos t devices do not suppor t operating system boot up. I cannot copy large files to the StoreJet 25 1.
