1 Introduction ︱ Congratulations on purchasing T ranscend’ s S tor eJet 25 . This rugged, ul tra-portable, high speed USB st orage device is the perfect data managem ent system for uploading, downloa ding, storing and trans ferring y our data.
2 System Requirements ︱ Desktop or noteboo k computer with a wor king USB port. One of follow ing Operating Systems: USB 3.0 Models: USB 2.0 Models: • Windows XP • Windows XP • Windows Vista • Windows Vista • Windows 7 • Windows 7 • Linux Kernel 2.
2 Transporting • Do not pack the StoreJet 25 into luggage without proper padded support. Other items in your luggage may dama ge the drive during travel if it does not have prope r protection. • Avoid squeezi ng or compressing the StoreJe t 25. • Do not place objects on top of your StoreJet 25 .
3 Connecting to a C omputer ︱ 1. Plug the small end (1) of the USB cable into the S toreJet 25. 2. Plug BO TH large ends (2) and (3) of the USB cabl e into an av ailable U SB 2.0 or USB 3. 0 port on your desktop or no tebook computer . NOTE : A lways plug both large ends of the Y -cable into your computer .
4 3. A new Local Disk drive with a newl y-assigned drive letter w ill appear, and a Remov able Hardware icon w ill appear on the W indows System Tray. The S toreJet 25’s internal hard drive comes pre-formatt ed to F A T32, which is compatible with most computer systems, including W indows, M ac, Linux, and more.

Once connected, you can use the S toreJet 25 as an external hard driv e to tr ansfer da ta to an d from your computer .
6 One Touch Backup ︱ ︱ ︱ ︱ (Select StoreJet mode ls only) To enable the One Touc h auto-backup button, y ou must first run the prelo aded Transcen d Elite software (located in the Transcend Elite directo ry of your StoreJet).
7 Disconnecting from a Computer ︱ ︱ ︱ ︱ NEVER disconnect the S toreJet from a Computer when its LED is flashing. Windows 1. Select the Hard ware icon on the system tray . 2. The Safely Remov e Hardware pop-up w indow will appear .
8 Linux ® Execute umount /mnt/Storej et to un-mount the device . Then unplug your S toreJet 25 from the USB port..
9 Formatting the Ha rd Drive ︱ W ARNING! Formatting the disk will erase all o f the dat a on yo ur StoreJet 25. Y ou must have Adminis trator Right s to format in Windows. Windows ® XP 1. Download t he S toreJet Format Utility f rom Transcend’ s online Download Center at www .
10 8. A confirmation wi ndow will appear . Press OK to begin formattin g the drive. 9. The format process may take a few minutes. W he n complete, an “ O.K. ” message will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the window . 10. Click the “ Close ” button to finish and exi t.
11 4. Unplug all other USB st orage devices from you r computer . This is to prevent accidental format of a dif ferent USB driv e. 5. Right-click “S toreJetFormatter .exe ” and select “ Run as Administrator .” 6. The User Account Contr ol window will appear .

13 10. A confirmation w indow will appear . Press OK to begin for matting the drive . 11. T he format process m ay take a few m inutes. When complete, an “ O.K. ” m essage will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the w indow . 12. Click the “ Close ” button to finish and exi t.

16 Troubleshooting ︱ If a problem occurs with your S toreJet 25, pleas e first check the information listed below before taking your S toreJet 25 in for repair . 17 I inst alled an OS onto the StoreJet 25. Why can’t I boot from it? Current USB 3.0 hos t devices do not support ope rating system boot up. I cannot copy large files to the StoreJet 25 1.
