PREPARAT ION 17 CONNECTING THE FDD (FLOPPY DISK DRIVE) (TO BE PURCHASED S EP A RATELY) 1. Insert the plug (2) of the FDD c o nnectio n cable (1) securel y into the FDD connec tor (3) . 2. Inser t the plug (4) at the other e nd of t he FDD co nnection cable (1) securely in to the connector of the FDD.

PREPARAT ION PREPARAT ION 20 SETTING THE UNDER THRE AD 1. Orient the bobbin (1) with it s thread faci ng in the direct ion, specified by the arrow s ymbol, a nd put it in the bobbin case ( 2). 2. Route the thre ad through the thread groove (3) in the bob bin case , under the thread tension spring ( 4) and the thread gu ard (5).
PREPARAT ION 21 SETTING THE F ABRIC ON THE HOOP 1. Place the fabric (2) on the outer ho op (1) and press the inner hoop (3) into the outer hoo p (1). If the inn er hoop (3) canno t be pressed into the outer hoop (1 ) smoothly , loosen the hoop s e t screw (4 ).

If the hoop is returned to the start point during embroidering, em broi- dery cannot be continued.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 72 TRACE This ope ration moves th e hoop alo ng the embroide ry range (maxim um dimen - sion: vertical × horizontal) of the desi gn data. 1 Select TRACE. For details of trace operation, refer to Page 85. Trace operati on is not allowed dur- ing embroidering.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 73 OFF SE T (PO SI TION SE TT ING) This opera tion sets the of fset positio n, which is taken as the s tart point of a design. 1 Select OFFSET . 2 Set the offs et position. Set the offset position by actually moving the hoop to the desired position using the hoop travel keys.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 74 OFFSET (HOOP TRA VELING) This ope ration moves th e hoop to t he offset positi on and back to t he position located b efore offsetting. 1 Select OFFSET . Press the offset key and the hoop moves to t he registered offset position.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 75 TRIMMING This opera tion tri ms thread . 1 Sele ct TRIMMI NG . If you select trimming, t he main shaft rotates. When lock stitch is selected (Page 40), one stitch is sewn before trimming. CAUTION When perform i ng this ope ration, do not put your hands or others under the needle or on the t able.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 76 HOOP FORW AR D/BACK (TRA V EL UNITS) This ope ration moves th e hoop fo rward or backwar d in incre ments of set unit of travel.
OPERATION PROCEDURE 77 HOOP FORW ARD/BACK (n-STITCH FEE D) This operati on moves the hoop forw ard or backwa rd to the inpu t stitch posi tion. 1 Select MODE ( n ST).
OPERATION PROCEDURE 78 HOOP FOR W ARD This ope ration mov es the hoop forwa rd. 1 Select FORW ARD. When the setting is "1-stich unit", pressing the FORW ARD key once makes the hoop to travel forward by a single s titch. 2 Keep pressing [FORW ARD].
OPERATION PROCEDURE 79 HOOP BACK This opera tion moves the hoop bac k ward. 1 Select BACK. When the setting is "1-stich unit", pressing the BACK key once makes the h oop to travel backwa rd by a single stitch.
