3 SETUP – SR-M8102 The following steps must be perfo rmed to properly install your drive: • Set Drive Jumper Settings • Connect Audio Cable • Attach IDE BUS Cable • Attach Power Cable • Mount Drive Jumper Settings The mode select jumpers are 6 straight angle pin s located on the rear of the CD-R/CD-RW drive.
4 Placing CD-R/CD-RW Drive inside your Computer Now that you have set the jumpe rs, you are ready to install your CD-R/CD-RW drive inside your computer. Important Note: Disconnect power fr om y our co mputer system befo re beginning installation. Remove computer co ver and faceplate if required.
5 Power Cable - Connect an internal com puter power supply cable to the power so cket at the back of the CD- R/CD-RW drive. One side of the plug ha s chamfered edges, so the power connector fits onl y one way. Push plug completely into the socket making sure the plug fits correctly.
6 USING THE CD-R/CD-R W Drive – SR-M8102 Drive Operation Inserting a Disc - Horizontally To insert a disc into a drive that is moun ted horizont ally, perform the following steps: Figure 1.Inserting Disc 1. Open the drive's L oading tra y b y pressing the Eject Button.
7 Figure 2.Inserting Disc Vertically Removing a Disc To remove a disc from the CD-R/CD-RW drive, perform the following steps: 1. Open the Loading T ra y b y pressing the Eject Button. 2. Slide disc holders a wa y from disc. 3. Grasp disc by edges , and lift out of loading tra y .
8 Figure 3.Using Emergency Eject Cleaning Media Try to avoid touching the read area (un derside) of the disc as dirt and smears will degra de the disc accessing speed. If the disc becomes dirty wipe it with a damp soft cloth. Avoid cl eaning in a circular motion, but rather from the inner side outward.
