4 SETUP – SD-R5272 The following steps must be performe d to properly install your drive: • Set Drive Jumper Settings • Connect Audio Cable • Attach IDE BUS Cable • Attach Power Cable • Mount Drive Jumper Settings The mode select jumpers are 6 straight angle pin s located on the rear of the DVD Rewriteable drive.
5 Placing D VD Rewrite able Drive inside y our Computer Now that y ou ha ve set the jumpers, y ou are ready to install y our D VD Rewriteable drive insi de your computer . Important Note: Disconnect power fr om your co mputer system before b eginning installation.
6 Audio Cable (optional) - If you ha v e a sound card and speak ers, and w ould like t o play a udio CDs on your computer , you will need to install a CD/D VD audio cab le. T oshiba's D VD Rewriteable driv es use a standard 4-pin audio cab le that can be purchased from most local computer suppliers .
7 Software Driver - T oshiba's optical d rives do not require an y unique de vice driv ers f or Windows '95/'98/2000/Me/XP/NT . After installing your d r iv e and re-booting, y our system should recogniz e your drive.
8 USING THE D VD REWRITEABLE DRIVE – SD-R5272 Drive Operation Inserting a Disc - Horizontally T o inser t a disc into a driv e that is mounted horizontally , perf or m the follo wing steps: Figure 1.Inserting Disc 1. Open the drive's L oading tra y b y pressing the Eject Button.
