Eject Button The Eject button is used to open the disc tra y so you can install or remove a disc.
3 SETUP – SD-R1312 The following steps must be performe d to properly install your drive: • Set Drive J umper Settings • Connect Audio Cable • Attach IDE BUS Cable • Attach P ow er Cable • Mount Drive Jumper Settings The mode select jumpers are 6 straight angle pi n s located on the rear of the Combo drive.
4 Placing Combo Drive inside your Computer Now that you have set the jumpers, you are read y to install your Combo drive inside your computer. Important Note: Disconnect power fr om your co mputer system before b eginning installation. Remove computer co ver and faceplate if required.
5 Audio Cable (optional) - If you have a sound card and speakers, and would like t o play audio CDs on your computer, you will need to install a CD/DVD audio ca ble. Toshiba's Combo drives use a sta ndard 4-pin audio cable that can be purchased from mo st local computer suppliers.
6 USING THE D VD Combo Drive – SD-R1312 Drive Operation Inserting a Disc - Horizontally To insert a disc into a drive that is moun ted horizont ally, perform the following steps: Figure 1.Inserting Disc 1. Open the drive's L oading tra y b y pressing the Eject Button.
7 Figure 2.Inserting Disc Vertically Removing a Disc To remove a disc from the Combo drive, perform the following steps: 1. Open the Loading T r a y by pressing the Eject Button. 2. Slide disc holders a wa y from disc. 3. Grasp disc by edges , and lift out of loading tra y .
8 Emergency Ejection CAUTION: The following procedure is intended on ly as a last resort when pressing the eject button fails to open the Loading Tray 1. T ur n computer powe r OFF by properly shutting down system. 2. Inser t a solid bar (i.e. large paper clip) into Emergency Eject hol e and push in until loading t ra y opens.
