3 SETUP – SD-M1712 D VD-ROM The following steps must be perfo rmed to properly install your drive: • Set Drive J umper Settings • Connect A udio Cab le (optional) • Attach IDE BUS Cable • Attach P ow er Cable • Mount Drive Jumper Settings The mode select jumpers are 6 straight angle pi n s located on the rear of the DVD-ROM drive.
4 Placing DVD-ROM Drive inside your Computer Now that you have set the jumpers, you are read y to install your DVD- ROM drive inside your computer. Important Note: Disconnect power fr om your co mputer system before b eginning installation. Remove computer co ver and faceplate if required.
5 Audio Cable (optional) - If you have a sound card and speakers, and would like t o play audio CDs on your computer, you will need to install a CD/DVD audio ca ble. Toshiba's DVD-ROM dri ves use a standard 4-pin audio cable that can be purcha sed from most local computer suppliers.
