SD-M1201 D VD-R O M with REALmagic Hollywood+ Playback Card Installation Instructions Congratulations on your purchase of a T oshiba SD-M1201 D VD-R OM dri ve and REALmagic Hollyw ood+ D VD/MPEG-2 Playback Card Kit. The following information will help you in the simple installation of your ne w D VD-ROM.
The follo w steps must be performed to properly install y our D VD-R OM. l Set D VD-R OM drive jumper settings. l Connect audio cable. l Install SCSI host adapter board. l Attach SCSI interface cable. l Mount D VD-R OM. SETTING JUMPERS The block of mode select jumpers are located on the rear of the DVD- R OM.
PR V/AL W - This jumper is used to inhibit the dri ve’ s EJECT button. When the jumper is ON, the EJECT button will not operate. T est - This setting selects the dri ve operation between normal CD-R OM and CD-Audio player mode. When jumper is set to ON position, com- mands from the host computer are ignored.
4 If you ar e r eplacing your CD-R OM : connect DVD-R OM to the SCSI interface connector that the CD-R OM was connected to. If D VD-ROM is not r eplacing a CD-R OM or is an addition to a CD-R OM: daisy-chain the D VD-R OM dri ve with a custom built SCSI interf ace cable (not supplied with kit).
5 Daisy-Chaining - If the D VD-R OM you are installing is one of two or more SCSI devices you are connecting to your system, you will need to use a custom built SCSI interface cable. Remember that the terminator jumper on the D VD-R OM dri v e must ha ve the jumper installed when the drive is the last device in the chain.
