1. SAFETY PREC A UTIONS Installing, staring up, and servicing air-conditioning equipment can be hazardous due to system pressures, electrical components, and equipment location (roofs, elevated structures, etc.). Only trained, qualified installers and service mechanics should install, start-up, and service this equipment.

Installation/Ser vicing T ools Changes in the product and components In the case of an air conditioner using R410A, in order to pre vent an y other refr igerant from being charged accidentally , the ser vice por t diameter of the outdoor unit control v alv e (3 wa y valv e) has been changed.

CA UTION Install the drain pipe f or proper drainage . Improper drainage can result in w ater dr ipping inside the room. This air conditioner has been designed to drain water collected from condensation which f or ms on the back of the indoor unit, to the drain pan.

– 6 6 – 11. HO W T O DIA GNOSE THE TROUBLE The pulse motor circuits are mounted to both indoor and outdoor units. Theref ore, diagnose troubles according to the troub le diagnosis procedure as descr ibed below . (Ref er to the check points in ser vicing written on the wir ing diagrams attached to the indoor/outdoor units.
– 6 7 – CA UTION A high v oltag e (equivalent to the suppl y voltage) is also energized to ground thr ough the sensors, PMV and other low-v oltage circuits. The sensor leads and other wires are covered with insulated tubes f or protection. Nevertheless, care must be taken to ensure that these wires are not pinched.
– 6 8 – 11-1. First Confirmation 11-1-1. Confirmation of P ower Supply Confir m that the pow er breaker operates (ON) normally . 11-1-2. Confirmation of P ower V oltage Confi r m that p o w er v oltage is A C 2 08 –230 ± 10%. If power v oltage is not in this range, the unit ma y not operate normally .

FILE NO. SVM-10020 11-5. Judgement of Trouble by Every Symptom 11-5-1. Indoor unit (Including remote controller) (1) Indoor unit is not operated. (2) Operation is not turned on though Indoor P.C. board is replaced <Confirmation pr ocedure> NO T ur n off power supply once, and 5 second later , tur n it on again.
(3) On l y the indoor motor fan does not operate <Prima r y c he c k> 1. Is it possi b le to detect the p o w er supply v oltage ( A C 208 – 2 3 0V) bet w een and on the te r minal b lo c k? 2.
Turn off indoor unit and rotate cross-flow fan by hand when the unit is on standby. At this time, is it possible to detect DC 1V or more between 5 + and 3 – of motor connector (CN 31). Is it possible to change airflow level to “HIGH”? Is it possible to rotate cross-flow fan by hand properly? Fan motor operates normally.
(4) Indoor fan motor automatically starts to rotate by turning on po wer supply FILE NO. SVM-10020 – 79 – Indoor fan starts rotating when power supply is turned on. (Check output DC voltage of fan motor on P.C. board.) Measure voltage between 3 (GND : BLACK) and 5 (V line : YELLOW) of motor connector (CN 31 ) while indoor fan motor is rotating.
