8 EN Adjusting the cloc k a CLOCK button Press the CLOCK button. The clock time indicator flashes. b ON button (o r OFF b utto n) Press the ON button (or OFF button) to set the current tim e. Each press of th e ON button (or OFF button) changes the time in one minute incremen ts.
9 EN Location of the remote controller • Keep the remote controller wh ere its signals can reach t he receiver of the indo or unit (a distance of up to 7 m is allo wed). • When yo u select timer operati on, the remot e controller au tomatically t ransmit s a signal to the in door unit a t the specified tim e.
10 EN When you set the air conditioner to A UT O mode, it auto matically se lects cooling, he ating, or fan only operation depending on th e room temperature. ( ) see pa ge 19.) 12 EN This function is usable f or prev ention of freeze of an uninhabited room . Press this b utton to start the 8°C set temper ature heat ing opera tion.
13 EN Press this b utton to start the electrical air purifying o peration . During air condition er operation a PURE button PURE operation star ts by pressin g this button. • The PURE indica tor (blue) on the display panel of the indo or unit tur ns on.
14 EN ON timer and OFF timer Setting the ON Timer a ON button Press the ON button. Set the timer to the desire d time. Each time the ON button is pressed, th e time changes in ten minute increm ents. Holding down the ON bu t ton changes the t ime in one hour inc rements .
15 EN Combined timer (Setting the ON and OFF timer s sim ultan eously ) OFF timer —> ON timer (Operation —> Stop —> Ope ra t io n) This feature is useful when you want to stop the air conditioner aft er you go to sleep, and star t it again in the morn ing when yo u wak e up or y ou return home .
16 EN Use the MEMO b utton t o store a freq uently used op eration se tting f or con v enience . Start the air conditioner in th e operat ion mode that y ou w ant the rem ote controlle r to store. Press the button as shown be low while the air condit ioner is operating.
17 EN • Adjust the a ir flow direction proper ly . Failure to do so could cause dis comfort and make an uneven room temperature distr ibution. • Adjust the ver tical ai r flow using the remote co ntroller . • Adjust th e horizontal air flow using the remo te controller.
18 EN This air condit ioner is equipped with an automatic r estar ting fun ction which allows the air cond itioner to re sume without the u se of the remote contr oller under the operating settings in the ev ent of a power shutdown. Operation resumes without warn ing 3 minutes af ter pow e r is restored .
19 EN A utomatic Operation As shown in Figure 1, Automatic Operation mode selects the operation b ased on the r oom temperature da ta when operation begins. The oper ation mode is se lected again af ter the compr essor has re mained stopp ed f or 15 minu tes.

21 EN Cleaning of indoor unit and remote contr oller When not us ing the uni t for at least 1 mont h (1) P erf orm fan operation for 3 to 4 hours to dr y the inside of the un it. • If a high temperature sett ing is used with cooling operation, fan operation is performed.
22 EN Preparation: 1 Open the moving pa nel. Pull the handles on the bottom of the r ight and left sides, and open the m oving panel until it is hor izontal. 2 Be sure to alw a ys gr asp the han dles when open ing the mo v ing panel. (The mo ving panel ca nnot be remo v ed.
23 EN Three-minute pr otection f e ature A protection feature is provided that prevents the air conditioner from being ac tivated f or approximately 3 minutes when it is restarted immediately afte r operation or wh en the power supply switch is set to on.
24 EN TR OUBLESHOO TING CA UTION If any of the following conditions occur, stop the air conditione r immediately , turn off the ma in power switch and contact the dealer . • The indicators f lash at shor t inter vals (5 Hz). Reset the circu it breaker 2 to 3 minutes after the power main switch is tur ned off.
25 EN Before asking for servicing or repairs, check the follo wing points. These are n ot defects.
