3 EN Mounting your navigation device 5. Insert the Car Charge r into the cigarette lighter in your car. 6. Switch your device on by pressing the On/Off button on the top of your device. 7. You now have to answer some quest ions to set up your device. Tap t he screen to answer the questions.
4 Mounting your navigation device GPS reception When you first s tart your TomTom XL na vigation device, the device may nee d a few minutes to determine your GPS positi on and show your current position on the map. In future, your position will be found much faster, usually within a few seconds.
5 EN Planning a route Planni ng a route 1. Tap the screen to open the m e nu, if it's not already open. Then tap Plan route . 2. Your device asks if you want to leave f rom where you a re. Tap YES to plan a route from your curre nt location. You will probably plan most of your routes fr om where you are.
6 Planning a route 4. Start to type the n ame of the town. Tap the n ame when it is shown in the list. Enter the street nam e in the same way, and then enter the house num ber. Note : When planning a tr ip for the first time your navi gation device asks you to choose a state or country.

Opmerking : wanneer je voor de eerste keer ee n route plant, vraagt j e navigatie- systeem je om een staat of la nd te kiezen.
