6 Coffee Maker Features and Benefits The one-time initial set-up of the coff ee maker (see “Bef ore Using Y our Momentum Coff ee Mak er , ” page 7) prepares the coff ee mak er by filling the W ater Chamber completely full of water and allo wing time f or the water to heat to proper bre wing temperature .
7 Bef ore Using Y our Momentum Coffee Maker Bef ore using your Momentum Coff ee Maker f or the first time, w e suggest you become f amiliar with all of its par ts.
8 NO TE: Adding more w ater than the amount specified ma y cause water to flo w from the Remov ab le Filter . If this occurs, replace the Caraf e under the Swing-Out Filter Holder or use a separate container to collect the e xcess w ater .
9 2. With the Remov ab le Filter in position in the Swing-Out Filter Holder , place a #4 Melitta Cone Filter into the Remov ab le Filter . 3. Add the appropriate amount of ground coff ee to the filter (See Suggested Coff ee Measurement Char t below .
10 10. After allowing the coff ee g rounds to cool, carefully remov e and discard the used coff ee grounds and filter . W ARNING: Brewed coff ee and grounds, both in the Remov ab le Filter and Car af e are v ery hot! Handle with care to av oid scalding.
11 4. Grasp the bac k of the coff ee maker and tip the unit f orward ov er a sink at a 45 degree angle until the w ater begins to flow out of the Show er Head. 5. Slowly top the coff ee maker to a 90 degree angle , hold until the flow of w ater stops.
12 NO TE: As the vinegar is poured in, hot w ater will be pushed from the W ater Chamber and flow through the Remov ab le Filter into the Caraf e . 5. When the flow of w ater stops, empty the Car af e then replace it on the W ar ming Plate. 6. W ait 2 hours bef ore proceeding.
