Open the printer ’s front door . 2. T urn the upper lever 90˚ clockwise to align the lever ’s triangle with the triangle on the surface of the imaging unit.

Place paper or transparencies in the tray under the hooks. 4. If loading transpar encies, load them so that the notched corner ( 4 ) is placed closest to the media level label ( 5 ).

Note A PAPER tray can be installed in any of the three tray slots ( A , B , and C ); however , for best results, the TRANSPARENCY tray should only be inserted in the upper ( A ) and middle ( B ) tray slots.

Caution T o protect your printer fr om a power surge, make sur e that the power switch on the printer is in the of f position before plugging in the cord.
Getting Set Up 2 User Manual 2-21 What happens at power -up ■ Both status indicators (power and error ) on the printer ’s front panel light briefly . Messages appear in the Liquid Crystal Display panel (LCD). The printer goes through a series of self-tests.

If an option is not selected, an error message is displayed on your computer screen and your job does not print.

4 Printing Basics 4-28 Phaser 560 Color Laser Printer Resident typefaces (PCL5) For PCL5 (Printer Command Language) printing (HP Laserjet III emulation), the printer supports Courier , T imes, and Universe typefaces in medium, bold, italic medium, and italic bold.
