2 Upgrading a Phaser¨ 200e, 200i or 220e printer to a Phaser¨ 240 Remo ving the old boards 1. Power down the printer . Leave the power cor d plugged in to provide a ground path for static dischar ges. Remove the interface cables. 2. Remove the top-rear and r ear cabinet panels.
3 Upgrading a Phaser¨ 200e, 200i or 220e printer to a Phaser¨ 240 5. Remove the card cage top (3 scr ews). 6. Flip over the hinged card cage top. 7. Lift out the old image processor boar d.
Note In the next step, it is only necessary to r emove the old engine control board from a Phaser 200e or Phaser 200i Color Printer . 8. Disconnect the wiring harnesses leading to the engine contr olÊboard.
5 Upgrading a Phaser¨ 200e, 200i or 220e printer to a Phaser¨ 240 SIMM installation on the ne w i mag e pr ocessor boar d 1. If installed, remove the font module by spr eading the pawls at each end of the font module connector securing the module in place.
6 Upgrading a Phaser¨ 200e, 200i or 220e printer to a Phaser¨ 240 N e w im a g e processor install 1. Slide the new image processor boar d into its card cage slot. 2. Close the card cage cover and secur e it in place. 3. Reinstall the printer covers.
7 Upgrading a Phaser¨ 200e, 200i or 220e printer to a Phaser¨ 240 4. Connect the I/O boardÕs ribbon cable to the image pr ocessor boar dÕs I/O connector . T ilt the I/O board forward into place against the r ear of the printer Õs card cage. Secure the I/O boar d in place with the two thumbscrews.
