Description of the product features 1) Adjustable fridge shelves o The shelves may be placed in an y of the guide sl ots within the interior of the appliance. They are protected from sliding out. o To remove a shelf : Take off all of the items that are stored on the shelf that you want to remove .
Using your Baumatic fridge freezer Before switching on o Make sure that it has been installed by a suitably qualified person, as per the informatio n contained in Baumatic’s installation instructions. o After delivery, wait for eight hours before connecting the appliance to your mains supply.
Switching on the appliance and setting the thermostat You switch on your appliance by co nnecting it to your mains supply and setting the thermostat. The thermo stat dial is located on the right hand side of the fridge section.
13 Arranging and storing food in the fridge section o Warm food or evaporating liquids should not be stored in your refrigerator, as this will increa se the humidity inside of the appliance. o All foods should be wrapped or covered, this is particularly important if the food has a st rong flavour.
o Milk bottles should have a cap on them and be stored on the bottle shelf that sits in the door. o Garlic, potatoes, onions an d bananas should only be stored in a refrigerator IF they are kept in airtight containers. The freezer section The freezer section is suitable for storing and freezing food.
Freezing fresh food o To freeze the maximum quantity of fresh food specified above, you should turn the thermostat dial to position <5>, 3 hours prior to attempting freezing. o For smaller quantities of fresh food, you should turn the thermost at dial to position <5>, approximately 1 hour prior to attempting freezing.
o If you are freezing liquid, then do not fill the container to the brim. Liquids will expand when being frozen. o Do not place bottles (glass or tin) containing liquids (especially sparkling liquids) into the freez er as they could cause the bottle to burst during freezing.
Making ice cubes o Fill the ice cube tray with water and place it in the upper freezer drawers (6) . o After the water is completely froz en and turned to ice, you can twist the ice cube tray (as sh own in the drawing below) to dispense the ice. Normal operating noises Ice cracking noise o Can be heard during the automatic defrosting process.
18 Saving energy when using your fridge-freezer Installing: o Install the appliance in a cool posi tion. If it is placed in direct sunlight or next to an oven or other heat source, the energy consumption can increa se substantially. o Ensure the appliance is installe d with the correct ventilation requirements.
o If you have a second appliance that is not used, make sure that it is stored with the power off an d the door left ajar until it is actually required. Disposing: o If you're going to throw out yo ur old fridge, see if there's a chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) recycler in your area.
The defrost drain hole o Defrosting occurs automatically in the refrigerator section during operation. The defrost water is collected by the evaporating tray and evaporates automatically. o The drain hole should be cleaned periodically with the drain hole cleaner.
Defrosting the freezer section The frost in the freezer section sh ould be removed periodically. You can use a plastic scraper to keep down the amount of frost that builds.
o You should not attempt to freeze fresh fo od inside the f reezer section until this 24 hour time period has elapsed. o Do not defrost the appliance wi th other electrical devices (e.g. hair dryer). Do not use sharp metal objects to remove the ice on the freezer, as this could cause damage to the refrigerant system.
Installation IMPORTANT: Before installation and usage read all the instructions an d make sure that the voltage (V) and the frequency (Hz) indicated on the rating plate are ex actly the same as the voltage and frequency in your home. The rating plate can be found on the front left edge of the inside of t he fridge section.
24 o When the connection is completed, no stray strands or cut wire should be present. The cord cl amp must be secured over the outer sheath. Positioning o It is advisable that your appliance is only .
Attaching the handle o Take out the handle and screw co vers from the accessory bag in the salad crisper drawer. o Close the door and remove the screws or hole cover installed on it.
o Finally, refit the screw covers. Reversing the doors IMPORTANT: Make sure you have enough room to lean the appliance back at a 45° angle. Care should be taken not to damage or break the condenser coils on the rear of the fridge freezer. THE APPLIANCE MUST BE DISC ONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE COMMENCING THE DOOR REVERSAL PROCESS.
When refitting hinges to the cabinet, you must ensure that the screws are fully tightened. However it is important that the screws are not over tightened. 1) Gently prise off the three plas tic screw covers from the top cover, using a small flat-headed screwdriver.
28 3) Gently prise off the plastic hinge covers at the top of the fridge door, using a small flat-headed screwdriver. One of the plastic hinge covers is small; this one will be reused later in the door reversal process. A larger plas tic hinge cover will be supplied with the appliance separately and this should be used instead of the existing one.
12) Unscrew the two screws that are fitted to the lower hinge holes on the left hand side of the cabinet. Then fit the lower hinge to the left hand side of the cabinet using the screws that you have just removed. 13) Carefully return the fridge freezer back to its upright position.
18) The upper hinge needs to be ro tated through 180 degrees from its original position, before being refitted to the opposite side of the cabinet. IMPORTANT: You must ensure that the hinge locates into the relevant hole in the fridge door. 19) Refit the top cover and then re tighten the screws at the front and back of the top cover.
Troubleshooting IMPORTANT: If your fridge freezer appears not to b e operating properly, before contacting the Baumatic Customer Care Department, please refer to the checklist below. My fridge freezer does not appear to be working/there is no power to my appliance.
Ice has formed on the inner back wall of my fridge. o Check that food has not been pu shed too far back inside the appliance, so that it is in contact with the inner back wall. o IMPORTANT: It is normal to get some ice droplets forming on the back wall of the appliance.
IMPORTANT: If your app liance appears not to be operating correctly, then you should disconnect it from your mains supply and then contact the Customer Care Department on telephone number (0118) 933 6911. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE YOURSELF.
