17 • Low battery indicator • Wall mount or freesta nding TO INSTAL L / REPLACE BATTERY The solar wall clock can use either the included 1 x AA Alkali ne rechargeable battery (c harged by solar panel) or 1 x AA Alkaline battery (no n-rechargeable; not incl uded).
18 To use a non-rechargeable alkaline battery: 1. Remove the incl uded rechargeable AA battery from t he compartment. 2. Use the switch to sel ect the alkaline battery (see bel ow). 3. Insert 1 x AA, IEC LCR6, 1.5 V Alkaline battery i nto the compartment, observi ng the correct polarity (see marki ng inside battery compartme nt.
19 SETUP AFTER CHAN GING/REPLA CING THE BATTER Y 1. After powering up the solar clock, all LCD segme nts will light up briefly and it w ill show the time (00:00), i ndoor temperature, date, and indoor humidity. 2. Next, the DCF time code rec eption will automati cally start.
20 time code is received, the DCF tower becomes perma nently li t and the time will be displayed. Daily DCF recepti on is done at 03:00. If the recepti on is not successful at 03:00, then the ot her reception occ urs at 05:00. If the reception at 05:00 is stil l not successful , then the next try will take pl ace the next day.

22 TIME ZONE SETTING The time zone can be set betwee n the 0 to -12 hour and then runs from 12 back to 0 i n consecutive 1-hour interval . To do this: 1. After pressing the SET-B utton the current ti me zone value starts flashi ng. 2. Use the + key to set the ti me zone.
23 1. The year digits wi ll start flashing (only last 2 di gits) on LCD2. Select the desi red year by use of the + key. 2. Press and release the SET key to switch to the “Month Setting” . MONTH SETT ING 1. The month digit on LCD2 wi ll start flashing (Defa ult setting 1).
24 1. The characters “° C” or “° F” will start flashing on LCD1. By use of the + key select “° F” for tem perature displ ay in degrees Fahrenheit or “° C ” for degrees Celsius. 2. Press and release the SET key to enter the mode “Solar Mode Setting” .
