5 GETT ING STARTED CHOOS ING A LOCATION Choose a location for t he TV where: • Air flows freely on al l sides. • The power cord is not in the way of normal t ra ffic. Note: Do not plug i n the power cord until you make all other connections. CONNECTING ANTENNAS The supplie d rod an tenna provides a d- equate reception in most areas .

7 CONNECTING AN AUDIO/VIDEO SOURCE You can use y our TV to moni tor an a u- dio/video source (suc h as a VCR , cam- corder or laser disc pla yer). C onnect the audi o/video source’s output jacks to th e AUDIO IN/VID EO IN jacks on t he back of the TV.
8 INSTALLING TH E REMOTE CONT ROL’ S BATTERIES The rem ote control requ ires two AA batteries (not supplied) for operation. For the longest ba ttery life, use al ka- line batteries (Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552). To ensure consist ent opera- tion, change t he batteries a bout onc e a year.

10 USING THE R EMOTE CONTROL The remote c ontrol has t he same co n- trols as the T V’s f ront p anel, a s wel l as the additional cont rols described in this sect ion. To operate the remote cont rol, point its front window toward the TV’s front panel.
11 REVIEW — Re turns to t he previou sly selected cha nnel. MUTE — Press once to mute the sound. MUTE appears on the screen. Press again to restore the sound. APC (Aut o Pict ure Control ) — Re tu rn s to the factory preset picture settings or th e sett ings you select.
