Rear view BRI interface PRI interface The back panel provides o ne PRI interface or 4 BRI interf aces depending on th e configuration and one power s witch/connec tor.

ISDN PRI or BRI cables The E1/T1 cable s hould be c onnected to a CSU (Ch annel Service Unit). You will n eed a CSU between your 3G Gatewa y and the PRI line fr om y our network provider.
5 Configure the Gat eway 15 2.3 3G Gateway Configuration The 3G Gate way requires som e basic conf igurations before it can be used. It wil l be necessar y to find the IP-address and to create t he dial-in and d ial-out services pr ogram the IS DN-PRI Line numbers .

There are three possible con ditions: Sync 30 of 30. I SDN layer 1 an d 2 are up and in s ync. Sync 0 of 0, ISDN layer 1 and 2 ar e in sync but not up.
5 Configure the Gat eway 27 BRI Status The picture belo w show the status page of a BRI version of the gat eway The BRI status disp lays the conditio ns of ISDN la yer 1 and 2 separ ately. Green in dicates up and in sync. Red indica tes not in s ync and indicate prob ably a discon nected ISDN l ine.
TANDBERG 3G G ateway Us er Manual 28 Note that in case the BRI 3G gateway is connected with less then 4 BR lines the BRI interfaces with the highest num ber(s) should be left open. For exam ple when onl y 2 ISDN lines are used t hey should be con nected with interf ace 1 and 2.

This setting m akes it possib le to use the gatewa y in these situations via sel ecting UDI . Note that it is not possible t o configure ISDN B RI lines for special functions lik e dial out onl y.
5 Configure the Gat eway 37 5.2 IP Configuration To conf igure the IP settings on the gatewa y, open ‘ System Configuration - I P ’ as shown in the figure below. Configuration IP Address Assignment DHCP : Dynam ic Host Configuration Prot ocol can be sel ected when a DHC P server is present.

5 Configure the Gat eway 39 5.3 H.323 Configuration To dial out from IP to ISDN, throug h the gatewa y, requires the use of H.323 num bers (E.164 aliases). T his means that the gat eway mus t be registered to a Gat ekeeper. H.323 Gatekeeper Status sho ws the current status of the Gatek eeper registratio n.
