Fluid escaping from a very sm all hole can be alm ost invisible. Do not check for leaks with y our hand. Escaping fluid under pressure can have sufficien t force to pene trate skin, causing se rious personal injury. Leak s can be locat ed by passing a p iece of cardboa rd or wood over the su spected leak and looking for discoloration.
TOWING SAFETY • Do not allow persons to r ide on splitter. Do not ca rry any carg o or wood on your splitter . I t may fall off and endanger vehicles that are following you. • Be sure jack stand i s in the travel positi on and coupling secure. This must also be retracted s o not to interfer e while towing.
OPERATION Intended use: This log splitter is i ntended and designed to only split wood. NEVER use for any other purposes. Doing so can cause i njury or VOID THE WARR ANTY. ASSEMBLY INSTRUC TIONS This log split ter has been parti ally assembled at the factory.
OPERATION FILLING THE HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR Fill the hydraulic reservoir with at leas t five gallons of Dextron II I A utomatic Transmission flui d or 10W AW hydraulic fluid. Afte r the hydraulic reservoir and t he engine crankcase are filled correctly with thei r respective oils, s tart the engine.

Do not operate your split ter in poor mechanical conditi on or when needing repair. Repair and replace worn or br oken parts imm e diately. Periodicall y tighten nuts, bolts, and hydraulic fi ttings. The hydraulic system of your log splitter requi res careful i nspection, along with the mechanical parts.
