A voiding image r et ention 60 A voiding image r etention Image ret ention (image sticking, ghost image) is the phenomenon where an image , or a part of it, s eems to be ‘burnt’ in the L CD panel. When you display e .g. a uniform li ght gr ay image you dist inguish the ghost image in the backgr ound.
