12 Chapter 1 Using the Keyboard The keyboard has full-sized keys and an embedded numeric keypad, separate cursor , lock, Windows, functi on and special keys. Lock Keys and embedded numeric keypad The keyboard has three lock keys which yo u can toggle on and off.
Chapter 1 13 Windows Keys The keyboard has two keys that perform Wi ndows-specific functions. Key Description Windows key Pressed alone, this key ha s the same effect as clicking on the Windows St art button; it launches the S tart menu.
14 Chapter 1 Hot Keys The computer employs hotkeys or key combinations to access most of the computer ’s controls like screen brightness, volume output and the BIOS utility . T o activate hot keys, press and hold the < Fn> key before pressing the other key in the hotkey combination.

Chapter 2 29 System Utilities BIOS Setup Utility The BIOS Setup Utility is a hardware configuration prog ram built into your computer ’s BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System). Y our computer is alre ady properly configured and optimized, and you do not need to run this utility .
30 Chapter 2 Information The Information screen displays a summary of your computer ha rdware information. NOTE: The system information is subject to diff erent models. Parameter Description CPU T ype This field shows the CPU type and speed of the system.

32 Chapter 2 Security The Security screen co ntains parameters that help sa feguard and protect your compu ter from unauthorized use. The table below describes the parameters in this screen. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested parameter settings.
