Chapter 3: Installation 16 of 41 3-4 Initial Start - up Start - up Checks Checki ng th e Cutt ing Chamber Before star ting the granul ator, open the cutti ng cha mber t o ensu re th at no fore ign objects have fallen in during transpor tation and i nstallation.

Insert a 0.006 in. to 0.008 in. (0.15 m m to 0.2 mm) thi ckness gauge between the cutting edge of the bed knife and that of the high rotor knife.

Protective gloves must be worn to avoid injury when handling the cutt ing knives! To remove and re place b ed knive s, use the followin g proced ure.

Chapter 5: Main te nanc e 29 of 41 8. Install knew or sharpen ed knives on each knife seat, making sure that the rotor is still blocked to prevent it fro m rotating w hile installin g the knive s. 9. Befor e re - installing the knife bo lts, wipe the m clean w ith a light, oil - dam ped cloth.
