Please keep th ese instructions for future ref eren ce. ► Use only with A C current and th e correct v oltage. See the label on the base of the grinder t o determine th e correct v oltage.
F or te TM Man ual 8 ► Do not lea ve your grin der unattended while turned ON. ► Shut off and unplug th e grinder from the electrical outlet when n ot in use and befor e cleaning. ► T o unplug, grasp plug an d remo ve fr om the outlet. Nev er pull on the cord.
9 F or te TM Man ual OPERA TION Place the F or té grin der on a level surface. With the hopper lid in place, m ount the hopper on th e grinder housin g by lining up th e two small tabs at the base of the hopper with th e two slots inside th e collar on th e top of the grin der .
F or te TM Man ual 10 Setting th e Macr o and Micr o Adjustment The Forté TM must be running when grind adjustment ar e made. Micro Adjustment A-Z Macro Adjustment 1-10 Partially ground coff ee beans may remain between the burrs when th e grinder is turn ed off.
11 F or te TM Man ual W eight-Based Grin ding Operation Select WEIGHT , then inser t th e coffee bin on the l oad cell and pr ess T ARE. Then pr ess one of the pr eset buttons (1,2,3). The scr een will show the pr e- programm ed grind weight in grams.
F or te TM Man ual 12 reset again t o the pr ogrammed time. F or gr eater quantities of ground coffee press th e M (Manual) button, then ST AR T . The grin der will count up to 40 seconds (AP), 60 seconds (BG), then shut off automatically . A t any time during MANU AL operation y ou can stop the grin ding by pr essing the ST OP butt on.
13 F or te TM Man ual 5. T o program th e other buttons r epeat steps 1-4. If the grinder is unp lugged it will retain th e stor ed settings Sleep Mode T o minimize stan dby power consumption, the F or té will go int o “ sleep mode” automatically after 3 minutes of non-use.
F or te TM Man ual 14 T urn the grinder on and lower th e Macro an d Micro lev ers, all the way t o the bott om. Let the grinder run l ong enough t o expel any remainin g ground coffee. Rem ove th e grounds bin (F or V ario-W and F or te , T ARE the grinder).
15 F or te TM Man ual display ed. Then pr ess button M, the disp lay will read “ cal”. Gently set the 200g weight onto the platform. Th e display will ash “ pas” and then show the total weight of the bin an d coffee beans (it sh ould read 200).
F or te TM Man ual 16 CARE an d CLEANING Remo ving th e Bean Hopper Rotate the hopper le ver , so it is in the CL OSED position, then pr ess the ST AR T button t o run any remainin g beans through th e grinder . Remo ve the p lug from the power outlet.
17 F or te TM Man ual CARE an d CLEANING TM F or te If the grinder is used daily , the burrs (steel or ceramic) sh ould be cleaned at least every f ew months using tab lets (see below for A utomatic Cleaning) or with a stiff brush. Proper cleanin g enables the burrs to achiev e the most consistent grind possible.
F or te TM Man ual 18 clicks to a st op (about ¼ inch or 4mm). Th e Open/Close le ver should be oriented towar ds the back of the grinder . Open the lever to allow beans t o ow to the grind chamber . A utomatic Cleanin g A thor ough, fast, and easy cleaning can be accomplished using Full Circle(tm) biodegradab le grinder cleaning tablets.
