8 Installing the washer -dryer IMPORTANT : Do not use excessive force. Damage to the couplings can result. The couplings should be tightened by hand; a tool should only be used if a leak occurs.
Installing the washer-dryer 9 Connecting the drain hose It is possible for the water to be discharged into a sink, standpipe or drainpipe, but an air br eak must be available at a minimum 20 ” height to pr event the machine fr om siphoning (Fig. 6).
10 Installing the washer -dryer Leveling the washer -dr yer • T o access the front leveling legs, tilt the machine backwar ds, leaning it against a wall or other stable structur e. • Adjust the legs up or down (Fig. 9) to ensur e the washer is resting solid and does not r ock side-to-side or front-to-back when the machine is upright.

18 W ashing and drying Splendide laundry tips • W ash cycles are 30 to 96 minutes. • Dry times for average sized loads ar e 60 to 80 minutes • W ash cycles use 7 to 18 gal. of water . YOU MA Y NOT SEE WA TER IN THE DRUM. This is normal. • Once set, the DRY TIME, WA TER TEMP and CYCLE SELECTOR knobs won’t move.

Care and maintenance 21 Cleaning the pump pre-chamber The washer -dryer is fitted with a self-cleaning pump that does not re q uire regular maintenance. However , if small items (such as coins or buttons) fall into the pre-chamber that pr otects the pump, you will need to retrieve them.
