7 Overview / Features Overvi ew The XDCU-50 HD Camera Extension Unit (called “the unit” below) can be combi ned with a camcorder fitted with a XDCA-53 or XDCA-55 HD Camera Adaptor and equipment such as a remote cont rol unit to confi gure a recording and long-distance transmission system.

14 Names and Func tions of Parts INTERCOM IF swi tch If you have not conne cted an intercom system t o the AUX connector of this unit, alwa ys set this item t o “4W”. If you set it to anyt hing oth er than “4 W”, the in tercom system may not operate pr operly.

19 Preparat ions and Set tings Starting the System • After connectin g the system with a CCZ-A and BNC cables , power on the de vices as describ ed below. • Do not connect or d isconnect the cables connec ting th is unit and the ca mera adaptor (CCZ-A and BNC cables) while the system i s powered on.
20 Preparat ions and Set tings Genloc king the System To genlock t he system, input a reference sync si gnal to the input si de GENLOCK INPUT co nnector o f this u nit. The reference sync signal can be an analog HD signal (tri-level sync) or an anal og SD signal (bi-level sync).
21 Appendix Appendix Return Video Sign al Input and O utput Return video signals input to this unit are sent to the camera adaptor a s HDSDI signals. The camera a daptor switches between the return video sig nal received fro m this unit and the signal received from the camcorder, and outputs the sig nal from the MONI .
