23 Calling Calling Making and r eceiving calls You need to turn on your phone and be within rang e of a network. 24 Calling Emergen cy calls You r ph one s upp orts int ern atio nal emergency numbers, for example, 112 and 911. These numbers can normally be used to make emergency cal ls in any country, with or without the SIM card inserted, if a network is within range.

31 Calling Fixed dialling Fixed dialling allows calls to be made only to certain num bers saved on the SIM ca rd. T he fixe d num be rs are protected by your PIN2. Partial numbers can be saved. For example, saving 0123456 allows calls to be made to all numbers starting with 0123456.
32 Messagi ng Messaging Text messag es Text messag es can conta in simple pictures, sound effec ts, animations, and melo dies. Before you use messaging You must hav e a service centre number. The number is supplied by your service pr ovider and is usually saved on the SIM card.
