2 1. Introduction 1.1 General Description T he UM-100/UM-101 series is a lo w cost, high resolution, and standard EIA/CCIR CCD ca m era. It provides excellent i m age qualit y w ith super H AD , on-chip m icro lens and ble m ish f ree CCD i m ager. Di ff erent shutter speed can be changed through rotar y s w itch located on rear plate.

4 2. Camera Setup 2.1 Basic Camera Setup For basic ca m era setup, as sho w n in Figure 1, one UM-100/UM-101 ca m era, one standard C- m ount lens, one T V m onitor, one PS-12C po w er suppl y unit or equivalent, and one BNC cable (75 Ω ) are required.
5 3. Camera Functions 3.1 12-Pin Connector T he 12-pin Hirose connector is located on the rear plate o f the ca m era. All ground signals on pin # 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, and 12 are co mm on grounds. Although +12 V DC input is reco mm ended on pin #2, this ca m era should w ithstand +12 V ± 1V input voltage.
6 3.4 Gain Control Mode ( A GC/MGC) A utomatic gain control ( A GC): AGC/MGC s w itch is located on the rear plate. AGC f actor y setting is 2V f or AGC control and 3V f or AGC MAX control. T here f ore, the m axi m u m gain is about 18dB as sho w n in Figure 6 belo w .
7 3.6 Field and Frame Mode (FLD/FRM) Field M ode: Field/Fra m e m ode s w itch is located on the rear panel. In f ield m ode, t w o adjacent hori z ontal lines are co m bined and scanned out as sho w n in f igure 8 sho w n belo w . T here is one line o ff set bet w een odd f ield and even f ield.

9 4.3 Strobe Set NRM/ASM s w itch to ASM m ode and m a k e sure the FRM/FLD s w itch on rear panel is set to FRM m ode in order to achieve f ull f ra m e resolution. T he strobe application is si m ilar to high-speed shutter application except the strobe pulse m ust occur in the dar k and no shutter is required.
