App en dix C A CID Tips and T ricks The follo wing sections contain some time -saving tips and creative suggestions for building ACID® projects. Adding long media files quickly Y ou can paint an entire CD track or MIDI file on an ACID track with a single click.
Duplicating with offset Another way to add interesting dynamics to a project is to duplicate tracks and add an offset to one of the p air . This trick wo rks well with most instrument loops and allows you to create different levels of effect. For example: • Configuring a slight offset between duplicat e tracks creat es a natural chorus effect.
Playing double time/half time Y ou can also produce interesting effects by misinforming A CID regarding the number of beats in a file. C onfiguring a file with half its actual number of beats results in double-time playback. This is an easy way to ad d speed metal drum tracks to y our project.
One of the simplest, but most effective exam ples of this is the build up . When musici ans play live, there is a tendency to incr ease dyn ami cs a s a s ong ente rs a ch oru s or ref rai n.
4. Select th e Bypass check box and click OK . An envelope for the Byp ass parameter of the effect appears on the track. 5. Add multiple poin ts to the envelope.
