Page 3 The AV2500 series II is a compact, very efficient, five channel pow er ampli fier. It is designed to be used in al l types of audio or audi o/video sy stems. The term versatile is almost adequate to descri be the vari ance of operational modes the AV2500 series II is capable of providi ng.
Page 4 - Efficient high curr ent transformer for improved dy namics. - More accur ate and three dimensional r eproduction of source material. - Prov ides short term pr otection from accidental shorti ng of output devic es and protection from thermal over load.
Page 5 1. A C fuse holder - Holds the AC Line fuse. This fuse is an 8 Amp / 250 Volt Slow Bl ow fuse. Replace w ith same ty pe and val ue fuse only. 2. A C Input receptacle - For attaching the suppl ied AC pow er cord to the amp lifier. 3. Speaker outputs - For connecting the speaker s to the amplifier.
Page 6 If the control function is desired, each uni t in the system must r emain connected at all times and the control must be enabled. To enabl e the control function, the CTRL ENABLE button must be out for each controllabl e amplifier in the sy stem.
Page 7 Example: W hen using 4 ohm and 8 ohm speakers together, the 4 ohm may sound louder then 8 ohm at a g iven v olume level. The l evel contr ols on the ampli fier are used to match the speakers volume level. Clockwise w ill increase the output. Counter clockwise will decrease the outp u t.
Page 8 Five w ay binding posts ar e provi ded. One pair for each channel. They are desig ned to accept a banana-type pl ug or spade l ug connector (s hown below ) and are color coded for easy identificati on. The red (+) post should alw ays be connected to the speaker s (+) jack.
Page 9 In order to g ain access to the internal bus str ucture, you must firs t remove the top cover . Turn the amplifier so the rear panel is facing y our. The jumper modules may be seen on the circuit boar d just behind the lev el controls . Below i s the default setup for the AV2500 series II amplifier.

Page 11 The AV2500 series II ’ s five output channels may be parall eled (mono) to combine the output current for all channel s. This feature allow s the amplifier to i ncrease its apparent output current. To use, pl ace the source gr oup jumper for all channels on the ‘L BUS’ jumper terminal.
Page 12 The AV2500 series II may operate w ith 2 channels br idged to dri ve a hig h impedance speaker. To use, place the source g roup jumper for both channels on the ‘ L BUS’ jumper terminal . Place the vol ume group jumper for both channels on the ‘NO VOL’ jumper termi nal.
