7 Getting started Connecting accessor ies To connect an accessory • Connect the accessory to the base of your phone. Before using yo ur phone Battery The phone battery is partly charged when you receive your phone.
8 Getting started 3 Connect the charger to the mains. To disconnect the charger • Remove the charg er by tilting the plug upwards. SIM card You receive a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card when you registe r with a network operator.

10 Getting started Wizards There are wizard s available to help you set up your phone. • Setup wizard – he lps you to enter some basic settings for your phone. The wizard starts the first time you use your phone or you can find it in Main menu > Tools > Control panel > Other > Setup wizard .

You can use f light mode where mobile phones are prohibi ted, such as in hospitals and air crafts.

21 Calling Calling Networks Network coverage To make or re ceive a phone ca ll your phone must be within range of a network. Home network When you turn your phone on, it automatically selects your home network if it is within range. Roamin g If your home netw ork is not within range, you may use another network that is accepted by y our operator.
22 Calling To set a speed contact (number) 1 From Standby se lect Main menu > Phone > Speed contacts . 2 Scroll to an empty position and press the Jog Dial. 3 Select a contact in the lis t and select Save . To make a call to a speed contact 1 From Standby pres s one of the keys 1 to 9 that corresponds to the stored speed contact.
23 Calling Handling two or more calls You can handle multiple calls at the same time: • Put an ongoing call on hold and start a new one, or a nswer an incoming call. • Start a confer ence call during an ongoing cal l (operator-depende nt). • Extract one party in a conference call for a private talk a nd put the conference call on hold.
24 Calling Zoom You ca n zoom th e outgoi ng vide o feed captured with the rear camera. There are four zoom lev els. To zoom the video feed • Use the button to zoom out and the button to zoom in. Paused picture If the video feed i s stopped, a paused picture is sent to the other per son.

32 Messaging Messaging Before you use Mes saging Before you can send or receive any messages (exc ept for SMS text messages) you nee d to set up the necessary acco unts. You can use the Internet and Email wizards provide d in the phone to downlo ad settings or do this manually.
33 Messaging • Outbox – contains messa ges ready to be sent. • Drafts – co ntains messages tha t are not ready to be sent. When you are creating a message , and exit the message bef ore sending it, you w ill be asked if you want to save it. If you select Yes , the message will automatically be st ored in this folder.
34 Messaging An overview of MMS To create and send an MMS 1 From Standby select Main menu > Messaging . 2 Select Create new message > MMS . 3 Add picture, text and sound as desired. 4 Select and fill in th e recipient’s details. To send a messa ge to several recipients, type a comm a between each address.

38 Imaging Imaging Camera The 3.2 megapixel camera can take both still pict ures and video clips. You can store them in the phone or send them as MMS. Expo sure contro l is automatic and in bad light conditions you can use the camera light. To take a picture or a video clip 1 Press the camera ke y to activate the camera.
39 Imaging Smart zoom When higher fram e sizes are selec ted, the camera will auto ma tically drop to a lower frame s ize when zoo ming in order to prevent dist ortion of the captured picture. The points at which the frame size is reduced is dependent on the current frame size set and are marked on the zoom ba r.
