7 W W W W A A A A P P P P S S S S E E E E R R R R V V V V II I I C C C C E E E E S S S S The typical W AP client is a small, portable device which is connected to a wireless network. This includes mobile phones, pagers, smart phones, PDAs and other small devices.
8 The phone accesses W AP services over SMS or IP , where IP is provided over GSM Data. T ypi- cal differences which distinguish the bearer types are listed below this diagram.
9 The W AP Gateway provides services in the company’ s Intranet, a banking or stock trading ser- vice on the Internet, or access to other W AP applications on web addresses anywhere on the Internet. A Gateway is identified by an IP number or by a phone number , depending on access type.
10 T o simplify configuring W AP settings in a number of phones, all settings can be sent as an SMS message to each phone. This makes it easy for an operator , a service provider or a company to distribute settings for Internet/Intranet, and W AP , without having to configure each phone man- ually .

12 P P P P ii i i c c c c tt t t u u u u r r r r e e e e s s s s In the T20e, there are more than 30 permanently stored pictures that express different moods and situations. The pictures are grouped by eight different themes to make them easy to find.
13 The T20e makes it possible to chat with a second party using SMS. The chat is a series of short messages and corresponding replies between the two parties, similar to chat services provided on the Internet. This allows the user to review the conversation history in the display , and also to reply to messages by using a few commands.

This provides data and e-mail communication, as well as Internet/ Intranet access, for a connected PC, PDA or handheld device.
